“I'm sharing my first experience with Scarlet & Gold to offer the pros and a few areas to keep in mind (notice, I didn't call these cons). For the pros, the products are high-quality, the designs are certainly unique, and the responsiveness to email inquiries is lightning fast! For the things to keep in mind: This is a small business that produces products on demand when ordered on the website, so there are considerations needed. Their website specifies 10-14 business day turnaround on ordered items, so this is not a time when you need to wait until the last minute to order - particularly during peak season (hello, football season in Auburn!). My first order took 20 business days to have in hand, so just keep turnaround times in mind and order in advance enough to ensure you have items when you need them - particularly if you're ordering gifts. As I mentioned earlier, the quality of the products is great with unique designs. Prices are about $20 above where I would think they should be for most of the products at straight retail, BUT....again, small business that produces on demand, so I would expect production pricing is higher since it's small-batch production rather than bulk. I'd rather give a bit more to a local business than to give a little less to a behemoth retailer. I look at purchasing from Scarlet & Gold as tantamount to making purchases from Etsy sellers where you would expect to pay a bit higher since they're not keeping large amounts of stock on hand. Not a negative whatsoever, just how I view their model (which is basically no different than any other small business). All-in-all, the quality and uniqueness of the products make this a business I will purchase from again, especially since I'm a sucker for unique Auburn merch that didn't come straight from the bookstore.”
