BAD GASOLINE?? I THINK SO! Driving from Opelika to Montgomery, my gas light came on. I stopped at the Eagle Chevron and purchased $33 of gas. It took approximately 10 minutes (or more) to pump $33 of gas into my car. Most likely, they were running low on the 93 Octane with Techron and why the pump was so slow. Drove the interstate back to Montgomery. The next morning when I cranked my car (a late model Volkswagen with impeccable maintenance records,) the car started sputtering and backfiring. This went on for 2 days, at which time, I assumed it was bad "Bottom-of-the-Barrel" gasoline from the Eagle Chevron in Auburn. Being forced to run that gas out, i fueled up again and GUESS WHAT?? NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER!! I called the owner of the Chevron to inform him of the situation. His name was MD. I Was not allowed to speak with the owner (but could hear him in the background avoiding the conversation.) The person whom I was speaking (male,) began to tell me that they don't sell bad gas and that my vehicle was the problem. I asked him about the "SLOW" pumping situation on Pump 7. He continued to tell me that my car was the problem and i needed to have it looked at. ......and again, he reiterated that they don't sell bad gas. I am not saying that Eagle Chevron INTENTIONALLY sells bad gasoline, BUT..... If a customer purchases $33 of gas and IMMEDIATELY the car runs horrible, .....then you run all of that gasoline out and put fresh gasoline into the car, .........and then the car runs normal again......... Does that sound like BAD GAS??? ........On an Ethical consumer standpoint, isn't THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT????? The owner of Eagle Chevron at 1599 S College Street in Auburn, Alabama, should not have avoided speaking with me on this matter. This MAY be an isolated incident. ........BUT, Since the owner avoided the conversation, then I was told that MY CAR is the problem, It raises moral issues that makes me want to AVOID THIS CHEVRON COMPLETELY!!! FYI: New Tank of Gas, CAR IS RUNNING FINE!! (please let me state that the store is clean. the employees were friendly.)
