I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at Walmart that left me extremely dissatisfied. The store has implemented an assistance-required security system for certain items, presumably to prevent theft. While the intention behind this system is understandable, its execution is severely lacking.
Here are two specific experiences I've recently had:
**Scenario #1:** I needed to purchase razor blades, which required an employee's assistance to unlock. Despite my efforts to find an employee, the designated staff member for that department never showed up. I asked several other employees for help, but they all responded with, "Let me find someone who works in that department." Unlike other departments like sports and outdoors, paint, and electronics, the personal care department doesn't even have a button to press for assistance.
**Scenario #2:** I needed to buy live worms, which are locked away. The designated employee for that department was nowhere to be found. Two other employees both said, "Let me find somebody who can help." Eventually, an employee called the designated staff member, only to discover she had gone home for the day and taken the keys with her. I ended up waiting for at least 30 minutes for her to return with the keys.
The lack of available employees in the designated departments is unacceptable. If Walmart is going to implement a security system that requires staff intervention, they need to ensure there are enough employees available to assist customers promptly. Instead, I wasted significant time and left the store empty-handed and extremely frustrated.
Walmart needs to seriously reconsider this flawed system or, at the very least, designate more staff to support it. As it stands, this process is a major inconvenience and has eroded my trust in Walmart’s ability to provide satisfactory customer service.

Clean, smaller Walmart. Service is meh…but when you need a Walmart, you need a Walmart…and they fit the bill. Would come back for groceries again.

It's a wonderful place to shop when you have a little money in your pocket and you also get discounts on your favorite items for a good low price so come in shop at your nearest Walmart near you
