What has happened to Wakefields? OMG, this used to be a beautiful high-end store that carried cosmetics, expensive shoes, and clothes. I walked into the store this morning and was shocked at the hot mess of shoe boxes strewn all over the floor, up against the wall, racks upon racks of cheaply made clothes. Pretty much everything was winter clothing. There was only one person on the entire floor, and she was in Clinique. I asked if she knew if they carried plus clothes, and she replied, "I don't know, go back there and look." She never looked up from what she was doing or offered to get someone to help me. I was appalled and walked out. This store looks like a bargain bin. Never will I ever go into this store again.

Beware of this store as they do not reply to multiple requests for a return. Their website also mentions returns but when you look into it further, there’s no information on how to request a return.

I would like to say thank you very much to the ladies that worked September 26th 2020 and helped me when my the transmission in my truck went out just as I was pulling into their parking lot. Me being from out of state, I was scared out of my wits. The young ladies were so courteous and helpful as I stood there crying and explained my situation, they reassured me that everything was going to be alright. And helped me call Anniston Police department non-emergency to get my truck out of the way safely and helped me call AAA. And once my truck was safely in a parking spot, (thank you to the two Anniston Police officers whom pushed my truck into the parking spot) one of the office ladies came out and offered myself and my little seizure service dog a ride. And brought us to a great local motel, gave me the name and number of her local mechanic, and her phone number just in case I needed her help again.So all of you ungrateful people who want to give bad reviews about "your local retail shops", I hope that one day you will have an issue with your vehicle or need some kind of help and you end up at Wakefield's clothing store in Anniston, Alabama and they bless you with the same kind of kindness and care that they showed me and you have to recant you negative reviews.Just because a store doesn't have the "exact designer clothing" you're so spoiled to getting, DOES NOT REQUIRE A NEGATIVE REVIEW OF ANY KIND.IS THERE NOT ENOUGH NEGATIVITY IN OUR WORLD TODAY!?!?!?!BE HAPPY YOU ARE ALIVE, SAFE, HAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON CLOTHES, GAS IN YOUR VEHICLE, FOOD IN YOUR TUMMY, AND A CHANCE TO MAKE THE CHOICE OF BUYING THOSE "DESIGNER CLOTHES"!!!!! I have been a customer at Martin's/ Wakefield's Clothing for many years. Today, I got to the register to make a purchase at Martin's in Gadsden, Alabama when I noticed that the store was not taking cash or checks due to Covid. I decided that I would use my Martin's charge card to pay. My card which I've had over twenty years was not accepted. I waited at the register while the clerk called someone from the back to come to the register. After several minutes, the phone rang and someone gave the employee an 800 number to call. I was informed that my credit card was canceled because I had not used it since last March. Not only was it embarrassing to be standing at the checkout for such a long time, but I was never notified about the card being worthless. I called the Wakefield's store and was told that I could talk to a manager on Monday(This happened on Friday morning). I guess the managers don't work on the weekend. No one has offered to reactivate my card. I am so disappointed in being treated like this and not being valued by this store. I won't shop there again because they don't care about their customers.
