“I am a loyal customer and come here for 99% of my pantry needs. They have some of the best nuts I’ve ever tried (especially their roasted almonds and cashews), huge fan of the Turkish apricots and their figs are always soft. They have a great selection of spices, Ayurvedic medicines, and grains & legumes. I also buy their rotis and love making wraps with them. As a home cook they stock my kitchen! And the staff are always very helpful, if you’re looking for something in particular or have an ailment that you need a remedy for.”

““Finest” is really a true statement in the name of this place. It’s not just the products (although good and fresh - and always excellent) but it’s more so the people that make the difference in this place. Sal is just amazing and so is everyone who works there. I’ve gone in and asked for certain things and He/they’ve ordered it just to accommodate ME! And if they’re doing that for me, they're doing it for others also. Sal’s not just a business owner and his staff aren’t just workers - they’ve all become friends … when I go there it’s like seeing close friends/almost family. This is what makes this place above the rest!Thank you for being so personable, becoming my friends and literally being the “Finest”. Highly recommended!”

“Best place in the area to buy produce! Lots of seasonal and exotic fruits, I get to eat fresh lychee all summer from here. Great prices on fruit and lots of sales so I can stock up and freeze extras. They also have an in-house butcher but sometimes they don’t do the best job at cutting the meats. Still, good prices on meat and I still buy it from here if I’m short on time. Good snack and instant noodle selection as well, I rarely go to supermarkets because Uncle Steve’s already has just about everything!”

“Willoughby General is a lovely, community oriented spot with coffee, tea, unique snacks, and other knick-knacks. They feature a lot of products from up and coming businesses such as Diaspora Co. and Fly by Jing. The staff was very kind as well. I'd definitely stop in again!”

“If you’re going to a gourmet Italian shop in NYC, chances are they’re importing goods through this place here. You can find stuff you’ve never seen before in other Italian speciality stores, like different brands of pasta or wild onions from Puglia.Worth a trip if you have a car or are REALLY into Italian cuisine. If not, places like Di Palo’s can do, except it may be pricier. Prices here are great. Huge block of Parm reg for ~$20”

“It's become part of our ritual to come here since its opening in 2017 to buy fruits, snacks, and drinks whenever we visited Brooklyn and stayed at the hotels nearby. The familiar TJ standard store layout made it easy for us to find what we needed quickly. The staff were unfailingly friendly and courteous, ensuring pleasant shopping experience. For us visiting from California, the pace at this store felt like it's on steroid, especially on busy Sundays. With a clerk perched high up to direct customer traffic to the nearly 30 check out stations, the choreography of this amazingly efficient checkout system was a sight to behold.”

“Excellent produce , fresh and good, and an array of well considered good products and policies. I appreciate the plastic free packaging initiatives for example. Only members can shop here, and all members commit to working a three hour cooperative shift every six weeks (sign up is easy and online) stocking shelves for example or bagging and weighing bulk products. Easy enough , somewhat enjoyable, often educational .”

“My parents grew up coming here for lunch when they were in high school down the street in the 90’s. Growing up they brought me here all the time & whenever we’ve moved out and back to nyc, it’s a ‘last stop’ while simultaneously being a ‘first stop’. Best chicken parmigiana in all of Brooklyn & those potato wedges? Unlike anything from anywhere else. I recently popped back into the city for work and made sure I paid them a visit & every time I visit the store feels emptier but the kitchen in the back is always filled with energy and all the deliciousness. Seriously, you’ll not be disappointed with this deli for its hot food. Just remember to have plenty of cash!!”

“This one tends to not be as busy as the others in NYC so far. Same great prices. The same great variety of products. Employees are courteous and friendly. There is on site parking and Kent Ave is a great place to get an Uber or Lyft if you need it. There is off the street bicycle parking in the garage.”

It's time to bring this store back and help out the local Family's.”

“Mally’s cured me, renewed my hope in Mexican food in New York City. Until Mally’s, I’d only ever received pure, unadulterated horsesh*t from Mexican joints on the east coast, often served on a platter and smothered unceremoniously in sour cream to give the appearance of dog food. Mally’s gets it right and keeps the recipes simple. My chorizo tacos were delicious— onions grilled into the meat, easy on the crema, plenty of lime, radishes on the side. The atmosphere itself is lovely; you’ll feel like you’re in someone’s home kitchen. Good music, a beautiful shrine for Our Lady of Guadalupe, family photos. I only knocked one star off for a slightly odd smell.”

“Oh my god Reyes is an absolute gem. I got the Al pastor burrito toro bravo (rice beans pico jalapeño cheese) and it’s one of the best burritos I’ve had in NYC.Also their chips are so fresh and salsa (which they sell separately if you want a little jar) is so good—flavorful and smokey and fresh. Can’t wait to come back.”
