staff seems confused and can't answer any of your questions and it's difficult to get through to the phones to discuss complaints or concerns

Very disappointed in the care our dog received at the clinic. We had his nails trimmed and he came out limping with two paws bleeding. Then they charged us way more than the price quoted. We gave the dog medicine to calm him before the appointment. If he wasn't calm enough they should have rescheduled the appointment and prescribed a higher dose for the next appointment. When we questioned them they pushed it all back on us. We will not take our pet there again.
One star was the lowest we can give , but I would give them 0 stars if I could

I’ve always had a great experience here! Been using capital city for years now. Timely, communicative, caring, and even on one occasion saved the life of my pet. Very thankful for the staff, and of course dr dean.

Wonderful people to work with for any pet care you might need! My dog Violet is a nine year old Golden and she gets excellent care here.

The worst vet service we've EVER experienced, below 1 star! If there were an option to choose below 1 star, that would be more appropriate. We brought our dog in for a nail trim. Nightmare! The Trazadone prescribed to him prior to his appointment obviously did not work, observed by staff as we arrived. They felt they could go ahead and do it anyway. I stated to vet staff that this task should not have taken place, rather it would have been best to save it for another day, medication adjustment, etc. or just to have postponed it either way. After the procedure, he had 2 paws bleeding profusely (one front paw, one back paw). When we brought him out of the clinic into the grass and parking lot, it was everywhere. They stated they couldn't get him calmed down enough to use the coagulant. We could not put him in the car for quite some time for fear of staining our car seats. Most importantly, was how he was hurting. THEN....beginning the evening of this incident, he began limping. I called the clinic the next day. Staff stated to me that a doctor would call me back. No return phone call(s). I called back to ask them why the doctor hasn't called me back, and to my surprise with staff not communicating this to me "initially" they stated that "the doctor was out on vacation and won't be in until the end of the week. What?. ....Made this poor dog wait to be examined 4 days after my phone call. Within that time, our dog went back and forth from limping to non-weightbearing for 5 days. Arrived there for appointment, was told that the doctor will be with you in a minute. I sat for 35 minutes, then left. We had not been communicated to about anything from day one..... doctor being out, etc. To sum it up, poor service, no communication, no return phone calls and lack of compassion. Our dog had a leg strain, swollen in the muscle above the elbow, above the first trauma he experienced. For a further kick in the pants, we were charged at least 2X more than initially quoted over the phone for a dog "with" nail-trim anxiety. Since this occurrence, we've checked surrounding vet clinics and found it to be $15 less than Capitol City Vet for a dog "with" nail-trim anxiety. In our personal experience, we would not recommend this business to anyone.

First time taking my cat to the vet in 11 years because she's a true scardy cat who is afraid of people and I didn't want to traumatize her. She had stopped eating dry food and I was really worried. This clinic was able to get her in the next day after I called them whereas every other one had a 10 day next appointment at the soonest. When I went in with my cat, they were amazing. Our vet tech was helpful and took time to get the full picture and history figured out. Dr. Dean was our vet and he was fantastic. He came in and was clearly very knowledgeable, personable, and also took time to answer my questions and address my concerns. While I hope to not need to return to a vet anytime soon, I would certainly go back there if needed and would highly recommend this business to others. Thank you to Dr. Dean and the staff at the Capital City Vet Clinic!

Our 14 year old boy was rapidly declining and we knew we needed him to be seen ASAP, whether there was anything we could do to help or not. They had availability right when they opened the next morning (the only vet in the area that isn’t the ER that is open Saturday and Sunday). We took him in, with a personal blanket, which they let us bring in and have him lay on throughout our time there. They were incredibly quick in letting us know that medically, there was nothing they could even do for him, which is highly appreciated because other places would likely say they can try things just to rack up your bill. The staff was incredibly compassionate and let us have as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our beautiful Midnight. They took him back in his blanket, and brought it back to us folded up nicely which is incredibly thoughtful. They offered nose and paw prints, as well as memorial jars of his fur- we said we wanted it all, and they gave us many of each. There were so many attempts to get perfect paw prints, and they gave us every single one they tried, good or not. We couldn’t bear to look at our boy after we brought him to his burial site, but my friends took a look on our behalf and said Midnight looked absolutely beautiful and perfect, curled up just like he was sleeping.
All of this to say thank you so much. This is the hardest thing any pet owner could experience, and you guys care a great, great deal about your clients; it’s incredibly evident in your attention to detail and care.

They're open weekends. Appointment requested but not needed. My dog likes going there.
Update... everyone there really cares about my dog and cats. I have been going there for years. Prices are the same or less than other vets. All I have to say to my dog is "were going to see the nice ladies" and she's all excited ☺️

Making the decision to put our dog Mitze down was difficult enough, mostly the staff was compassionate, with the exception of the person trying to sell you all kinds of extras, kind of left a sour taste in our mouths, but business is business. I guess.

You cannot possibly never have an opening everytime I have called. It’s not only you either we don’t have have emergency vets in the area. They are all worthless if they are always “full”. Don’t even bother to ask the severity and maybe it it something you could easily help with. Just instantly dismiss it and say call other places. Well guess what, they do the same.
