I dropped my car off at 9 on Saturday. I received a text around 12 that they were starting on my car. It was getting late around 4:30 so I called the number provided. I was assured that even though the shop closes at 5 they wouldn’t leave while my car was there and confirmed I would be able to pick it up. I got to shop around 5:30 and nobody was there. My car was also left unlocked in the parking lot. To make things even worse Monday is a holiday so they now have my car held hostage for Sunday and Monday. When I called customer service they basically stated they could email the shop and hope for the best. While I was talking to customer service at 6 I finally received the text saying my car was ready, but as we know I was already standing in their parking lot alone with my unlocked car.

I am very disappointed in this company not taking safety seriously. I had my windshield replaced a few months ago and was disappointed that it was never cleaned on the inside after installation. Finally got around to cleaning it and it will not come clean. I have used many different products and have used paper towel, microfiber cloths, newspaper and more. Still won’t come clean. I took it in the other day for the guy behind the front counter to tell me it’s from people smoking. No one has ever smoked in my vehicle. Then he changed it to something in my air filter. I just had a full inspection done on my vehicle between getting my windshield replaced and now. Then he tells me that it’s my antifreeze leaking causing the haze look. I may be a girl, however again just had it in for a full inspection. It also doesn’t have any signs of burning antifreeze. I then asked what they use to clean the windshields, he said regular glass cleaner. I asked what he was going to do about it having this haze look that I can’t get off and he said it’s not my problem. They weren’t helpful in anyway. I don’t get how their name can be SAFELITE when there is nothing safe about this situation. When the sun or headlights hit my windshield I cannot see anything but a haze across the rest of my window. Almost like a permanent fog. At this point it has to be defective but no one wants to take credit for this or even help in the slightest way. Concerned for my safety and disgusted with your service and safety of customers.

I went with Safelite because they are a preferred windshield replacement vendor with my insurance company. I wanted an OEM windshield but my insurance wouldn’t cover it. Safelite was very transparent on the cost difference. They called me about two days prior to my appointment and notified me that the windshield they received was scratched. They ordered another one for me and moved my appointment. I was very happy they quality checked it before they came to install it. I opted to have the service done at my home. Anthony the installer was wonderful with communicating when he would arrive, how long it would take and even put on my new wipers (which I bought online). He finished the job very quickly and my car looks great! I know some people had a bad experience but perhaps it was the actual installer. Ask for Anthony if you can! He did a wonderful job!

PSA: truly I thought other reviews might be rare when talking about damages and poor customer service. Sadly they are all true and according to the body shop all to common with this Safelite office. My windshield replacement ended in $2300 in damages to our vehicle. Not to mention they installed items upside down and backwards, which has caused the whole windshield to need to be removed and reinstalled. I've had to go through the national customer service call center 3 times so far just to get someone on the phone at the local Schofield office. I got the repair quote and emailed sent to the manager, yet it was being ignored and not responded to for over a week until I got through again. It'll be a month before we can get the car back fixed, I'll update if management comes through with the payment. If you read this before your scheduled appointment, I advise trying to take your car elsewhere even if it cost more, it isn't worth the days/weeks/months of hell that follow.

Warranty Coverage / Poor quality glass.
Had windshield replaced 2 years ago. The vehicle is not driven on gravel, but the windshield has become very pitted with 100's of small white chips/pitted areas over the entire exterior surface. I would expect this on a windshield with more years of service but certainly not at 2yrs.
The windshield does not sound at all like the OE glass when tapping on it with your finger either. I'm sure it is not, but it almost sounds like a heavy plexiglass, very brittle.
At the end of the day, the windshield is not covered due to normal wear and tear.
This will surely be the last windshield from Safelite due to the poor quality and the ease that they pull the "normal wear" excuse.

There are a couple of reasons for my low rating:
1) When trying to schedule a repair to my windshield, I was told it would be 2.5 weeks away. That should have been the red flag that made me schedule another glass company. But I agreed and waited because I liked their past service on my vehicles and their TV commercials.
2) I was told they repaired the main chip but couldn't get the crack to absorb the resin. That was a lie. The chip and crack were exactly the same as I arrived.
As disappointed as I was, I decided not to have them replace my windshield. I called another company and within 2 days it was replaced perfectly. Had Safelite come to me and say it was completely unsuccessful and they recommend a glass replacement, I would have entertained the idea. I feel they just wanted me to leave and collect the insurance money.
Oh, and they do NOT schedule remote windshield repair in Rib Mountain. You have to go to their shop, regardless of what their TV ads state.

Convenient and easy to work with through insurance. Dropped off before 9:30 and got a call after 1 that it was ready.

Flexible scheduling, friendly staff, quick and quality work. Located near a couple shopping centers including a movie theater if you're wondering what to do while they're installing your windshield

If no stars were an option, I would've chosen that! After waiting over 2 1/2 hours in the freezing cold waiting room (and a bathroom with no toilet paper or paper towels) we got our truck back only to find out they broke our front seat and put our wipers on wrong! Upon calling, they have basically refused to claim responsibility! Couldn't have disappointed me more if they tried!

Went in to get a quote for my windshield to be replaced only to be told that yes, it’s busted, but doesn’t have to be fixed because it’s “only cosmetic” since it’s not within my field of vision (busted in upper right corner). The guy I spoke with was more interested in talking me out of having work done and making me feel like an idiot for asking for a quote than caring about what I asked for. Never got a quote, they never took any information, and I do not intend to go back.
