DX's work is amazing. My traditional wedding was beautiful BUT this business lacks in professionalism and could use some help on the administrative side of things--
1. I reached out to schedule a consultation and was informed that consultations for a custom design (tier 2) are $150 and at the end of the consultation I would receive a mock up. I wanted a pre-set stage (tier 1) which did not require a consultation, but I still wanted a mock up... they quoted me $495 for a mock up. This policy is strange because a mock-up is included in the consultation for tier 2, which is only $150.
2. After I finalized my request, I asked for an invoice. It took 15 days and two follow up emails to receive an invoice which was close to $10K. I was happy with the pricing and wanted to move forward. At this point all of our communications were via email, so I wanted to speak to someone just to verify the business and confirm it was legit before transferring $10K. They were extremely resistant. It took another 10 days to finally speak to someone and she had the worst attitude.
3. Three weeks before my wedding day, I received an email requesting that I submit what I would want on my dance floor monogram and that I need to send it in urgently because "things are backed up due to COVID"... why didn't you communicate this sooner? Once I sent my monogram, I was informed there would be an upcharge for chrome... this could've been communicated in the verbal conversation (if you weren't busy having a nasty attitude).
4. After my wedding, the DX breakdown team ran over time to remove the items, thus I lost my deposit.
If you move forward with them, your wedding will be beautiful. Just be prepared to be treated with little to no dignity, receive little to no communication and anticipate a slow take down process.

This place is amazing. I’ve found so many treasures here. The pricing is reasonable. The staff is super and you never know what you’re going to find! Great store!

Strange experience my first time at the Hartland store on Tuesday. It's not a huge place, but there's a lot to look at, so I wandered quite a while. I was never acknowledged by the lady working there (other than an excuse me when she had to get around me). Just me and one other lady in the store who she chatted with the entire time I was there. Seemed to know her personally, I heard her mention this lady's baby room and her dad (again, small place, ended up in close proximity a couple times as I browsed). Never got a hello, much less any offer of assistance or a thanks for coming as they were near the door as I left. Very odd.
