They need a different waiting room for the kids. To have hundreds of people that are sick and have different diseases. So have the little kids waiting in that room just for triage is insane. Who knows what can be spread to these little babies. This needs to change, even for the parents that are not sick. The whole place is a giant cesspool. Also, they label this hospital as a Children’s Hospital but yet you have to go in the main ER entrance. It is all very confusing to know where the kids are supposed to go. And also I’ve never been in a hospital where they care so much about going through security. I was treated like a criminal with my stroller and diaper bag and had to go through all of it. While my child was extremely sick.

Health service is exceptional. Staff is very kind and cooperative and working selflessly in the service of humanity. I liked everyone associated with this institution.

We have been to multiple children's hospitals and other hospitals and although they are all good, AFCH is by far the best. Great amenities, great doctors and nurses, just overall great. A real big feature to be so close to it if you live in Dane County

This is the best hospital that my family and I have ever been to. The doctors and nurses are phenomenal. They answer questions thoroughly and make sure you receive the best care possible. I recommend this place to anyone!

The vibes were off from the beginning. The nurse didn’t even introduce herself until I had to ask who she was. The CNA stuck the thermometer too far up my 3 week both times. And the worst of it all is that they neglected my daughter. I had to leave and I wasn’t gone for more than 30 mins when I let the front desk know I was leaving and if they can keep on eye on her and when I’d be back. When I arrived my daughter was screaming at the top of her lungs and crying (the most heartbreaking thing in the world), her swaddles were completely unwrapped she could’ve literally suffocated from them, and she ripped out her own IV. Keep in mind this is a 3 week old. When I voiced my concern to the resident doctor she didn’t say anything. When I voiced my concern to the nurse discharging us she said “oh I’m sorry” then got awkward and talked about how my baby was cute. I am completely disgusted with the lack of care.

Because AFCH is so innovative they are able to provide great care in the hospital, and are adept at coordinating great care once you leave as well. The providers work well together and communicate across specialties for better continuity of care. They not only care about patients individual needs they expect and plan for your own unique needs. This is sadly not they case in other hospitals. We miss you AFCH!

We go here a lot as my child had a soft cleft palate at birth. We see the cleft palate team yearly now. We used to see Dr. Marcy in GI and we loved her so much, but we graduated from there. Dr. Garland did my daughter's soft cleft palate surgery when she was a year old, and it looks PHENOMENAL and healed so well! Nastassja is so sweet and kind every time we see her. She's so personable and thoughtful. We look forward to our visit with her and Dr. Garland each year! Exceptional care and exceptional staff at AFCH Madison - THANK YOU!

We brought him to hospital to figure out why he isn't gaining enough weight. We wanted to get into GI and nutrition sooner than later. The nutritionist at hospital said your baby needs a higher calorie formula. Since the doctor didn't like that my boyfriend was using playtex bottles and my baby was just breaking even with weight with us at hospital CPS was called. My boyfriend and my 3yr old special needs child (I have full custody) was escorted out of hospital on July 3rd2023. My baby was born in April. He was put into foster care, since we couldn't ask a family member to drop their life to watch my baby with us at the hours 24/7. They entered failure to feed. I have WIC and foodshare. The hospital also deleted his admission records from uwhealth MyChart twice. This American Family Children's hospital should be shut down.

I love this place! The hospital is amazing and so are the Drs, Nurse practitioners. They go above and beyond to make sure the issues are addressed and you are comfortable with the diagnosis and understand. I couldn’t have asked for a better place for my son!

The providers have made me feel so safe letting them care for my son. They make sure I know everything and am left with no questions . Given we are only seeing the urology department they are all amazing. I don’t trust many people with my son but I trust them
