Just stopped in to evaluate the place for dinner. Had drink on outdoor patio. Staff seemed confused. Warm day but had to ask fie umbrella, water & cool drink. Nice inside, patio needs TLC. Weeds & overgrown bushes & trees. Hopefully it will be better next time. Prices are rather high.

Beautiful rooms. Best night sleep ever. Not far from down town but far enough away from the crowds. Erik the manager goes out of his way to make your night perfect. His knowledge about the history of the place and towns are fascinating. He's always as friendly as can be.

We got married on the outdoor patio of the Getaway and stayed at the French Country Inn. We had a group of 37 family and friends, not all stayed. Kortlynn planned our event. There are not enough kudos I can give for the job she did along with the wait staff, bartenders, everyone. They made us and our guests feel special. I wouldn’t change a thing and I don’t know if there was anything they could have done to make it better. If you want to have a wedding with a Door County feel at a much less expensive price I would highly recommend The French Country Inn/The Getaway. If I could give more stars I would. What a way to start our lives together.

Rooms: We stayed in the Dillinger suite. The deck over looking the patio dining era and the lake is nice. My children and parents stayed in the regular rooms. The easy access to a deck overlooking Lake Como is the highlight. Rooms are being updated. Quaint is the term.
Food & drinks: We’ve eaten there three times for dinner and three for breakfast. All have been very good. Filet is excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes are fantastic. Get the hash browns with your breakfast.
Noteworthy details: A lot of interesting history with the Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson suites. Eric can share some of the fun facts about the property.

Throwback Hotel-Motel. You will use a actual key and check in is in the main building of what must be a historic hotel.
Charming! Vintage! It is being updated but not gutted and refurbished. Family owners are keeping the feel of the place.
Positives far out weigh the negatives. You get out of bed, open a door and boom! Lake Como. The view is of beautiful Geneva National Golf and Heaven Center. I took a shot of the hotel from heaven center. Attached.
Food and Drinks at the Getaway were good to great. Apps had a good variety and tasted great. Steak was great and I got to add a Lobster Tail. The staff is delightful. I mean service with a smile. The restaurant is worth the trip.
My room was more motor lodge than Hotel. Door opens to the parking lot and the air freshener is old lady perfume. It’s old school and being refurbished to maintain the charm of this place. The charm is considerable. My bed was delightful with high thread count sheets. My shower was a nice tile and everything was clean! The smell takes away from what is a good experience.
Pool is older but very clean and well cared for by the staff.
This was a great stay for me. Priced right and close to everything Lake Geneva.
Rooms: Updated but has a perfume smell that I don’t dig. Awesome bed and shower. Opens up to Lake Como with two seats and great views.

the gentleman at the front desk was there like 7 days a week and deserves 2 promotions!
The grounds were beautiful, the food at the restaurant was outstanding, the kayaks and other fun water equipment were included in our stay and that was a super awesome plus.
If you're going to vaca in the area i would strongly recommend this place to anyone!! felt like a perfect little resort we cant wait to go and stay at again... 6 stars!

My stay at this hotel was absolutely incredible! The highlight of our trip was the Dillinger suite, which featured a spectacular deck offering stunning views. The room itself was incredibly spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after our daily adventures.
One of the most memorable experiences was renting pontoon boats directly from the hotel. The process was incredibly easy and added a whole new level of fun to our stay.
I also have to give a special shoutout to the manager, Eric. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience, attending to every detail with a smile.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

The French Country Inn was the destination of a yoga retreat I signed up for. This place was ideal. I loved my room, especially the little gas fireplace that kept the room a perfect temperature. I loved the food and ambiance of the restaurant in the hotel, ‘the Getaway’! But the most excellent memory for me is the kindness of the hotel manager, Eric Morehead. The reviews have already described his warmth and knowledge about the history of the hotel. But when I had a flat tire after having signed out, Eric Morehead gave me his full attention until he found someone to get my problem fixed! The lovely experience of staying at the French Country Inn is enhanced by the caring staff.

We came up to the French Country Inn to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant The Getaway was amazing! The food and drinks were top notch, and the service was outstanding. Hotel Manager Eric treated us like family! Our lakeside room was beautiful! We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend rented a room for my birthday (2/3/2024). He became very sick and I didnt even get to see him for my birthday, as he has been very ill all week. He tried to cancel the hotel reservations, with several days notice, and they would not refund the room. It was over 24 hrs notice. They have lost a customer for life over $300. I do not recommend, no cancellation refunds. Stay someplace else in Lake Geneva.

We are currently having breakfast with a view of the wonderful lake on one of our last days of our honeymoon. What a great view and hotel; the perfect, romantic place. Eric at the reception is just a lovely chap with a vast knowledge of the apparently very rich history of this hotel. Wow. The room is cosy and the bed was comfortable. And the modern and cosy fireplace was an unexpected bonus. When we return to this area, we will be coming back here and we are recommending it to our friends and family.
