Said there would be food but there wasn't. Apparently not enough employees. Drinks were not consistent, but always the same price. Not enough seating. The other guests is what saved the whole thing, and the beautiful grounds and decor. I'd try it again.

Historical home with a twist. Ask any worker about the doctor. If you love antiques, there are gems all over the place. Drinks delicious.

We’re a couple of craft cocktail enthusiasts from Chicago, and these drinks were top notch! Very creative and the atmosphere was unique in a boutique hotel. Juan is an amazing bartender too!

My husband and I stayed here for weekend get away! First impression was super charming and elegant mansion! Going during Christmas time with all the holiday decorations is a must! The staff are all friendly and we enjoyed the speak easy/bar on Saturday night! A lot of fun history! The 4/5 stars comes from the fact that we could hear the music from the basement all the way up to our room on the 2nd floor room! The sound carries easily through the vents. It's an old hotel but some additional sound proofing would have been nice as we were trying to sleep at 10pm and the music didn't stop until almost midnight. Needless to say we will be back as it was very relaxing to get away from hustle and bustle of the city but maybe pick a different room next time!

We recently stayed in the Charlotte Brontë suite in the main mansion. The room was a great size, very clean and well appointed. It was very convenient to have the Apothecary right downstairs and the Speakeasy was a fun experience. Both offered great cocktails and delicious goat cheese and fig flat bread and amazing spinach artichoke dip. The staff was friendly and helpful, making our weekend getaway an amazing experience. We'll definitely return!

This has quickly become one of my favorite bars in Lake Geneva! Some of my group stopped here after my bridal shower in August, and I am so glad that we did!The ambiance is amazing and the drinks were just as fabulous. I love vintage decor and this place is like stepping into a different world. Now that my wedding craziness has concluded, I can't wait to come back!

Nice place, lots of different rooms to sit in and enjoy a drink. One of the bartenders was not so great, too busy talking with some girls, I guess I was invisible.

We didn't eat here. We were happy to see non-alcoholic beverage selection. Ordered what we thought were non-alcoholic Old Fashioneds, but discovered they were not. When we actually received the non-alcoholic version, it tasted very watery by comparison; it's a shame that people who prefer not to drink alcohol must sacrifice flavor. The live music was very pleasant, as was the outdoor seating area. Servers were nice.

The boys and I were were looking for a speak easy like bar in lake Geneva and came across this place. It’s a bar located inside of a hotel. The drinks are well made and the bartenders were knowledgeable. We appreciated their suggestions. I will say, at times it was a bit silent in the bar while other times it was packed with bachelorette parties. Could use a little background noice such as some music. That’s probably my only critique.

One of my favorite things to do in a new place is find really good cocktails! The Apothecary Bar at the Maxwell Mansion Hotel was one of the top rated cocktail bars in Lake Geneva and I totally get why.The hotel itself seems a little unassuming when you drive past it but the black and white decor is a total vibe. Since we were only there for a day, we didn't stay there, but we got a chance to get drinks at the bar and walk through the first floor of the house. I got a Lychee Luau and my husband got an Agave Sun by Lakefront which is what they recommended when my husband asked for something similar to a summer shandy. He liked his beer and likened it to a Blue Moon. My cocktail was very good - sweet and tart. The lychee was a little too subtle for my taste but overall very good. They also have a kitchen/restaurant but they couldn't off us a menu until 6pm because of a private event going on. There is also a speakeasy, but it's only open starting 9pm and you need a password to enter (which isn't hard to find!). Exploring the house was cool too! The bartenders were super friendly and told us about Dr. Maxwell and things to look out for in the house. Overall a very nice experience.

Lots of options to choose from in this nice little bar. The bartender was very helpful in suggesting and they offer daily cocktails and drinks that change every day. It is not pricy at all and the decoration is very cute. On top of that, the terrace offers seats by the fire and other places to enjoy the drinks. Only take is that it is not directly connected with the terrace, it would have been nice to have the bartender interact with customers more, as she was in the bar but there was no one inside!
