This is a great museum. Lots of old, informative newspaper articles on the walls and old artifacts from the era. They have a really cool train display with sound effects. Then the middle of the museum, they show a short movie about the war in a round display.

The layout of the museum was well thought out, starting from the stage being set prior to the war through to the end, with additional modern day issues in the final room that tied nicely to the prior exhibits.
Much of the museum is told through “newspapers” that explain a concept or theme, often with individual stories. Many of the themes were supplemented with artifacts, letters, and pictures. While the history was really engaging and impactful, the individual stories told throughout really grounded the history through personal perspectives.

Nice museum, well laid out, clean and modern. Thought the price was a bit high and no discount for military veterans.

Web site does not do justice to museum. Civil war gun collection worth seeing. Memorials to all wars inspiring. Don't miss Religion in War and 360 battle film.

Great experience, kids love it, the 360 degree movie a must see. nice gift shop, very educational experience for young and old.

There is a great playroom upstairs, free for kids while any adults go through the intense exhibits! It has imaginative play to act out living in that time period and toys and books for hours of fun!Playroom hours are usually noon-5 Wed-Sun, but you can call to be sure.
