Absolutely wonderful place. The owner has a vast knowledge about alcohol worldwide and isn't afraid to offer samples. I will definitely be returning whenever I am in Hayward.

Stopped in on my way home from vacation to grab a bottle of wine for a friend. Ended up sampling a Rye and Bourbon… “Butter Cup” was the best bourbon I have ever tasted, it was out of stock but picked up another selection from the same distillery. Owner was so personal and was willing to let me sample more but I still had a 2 hour drive pulling a camper. Was probably the highlight of my vacation and very unexpected!

The owner was lovely and had a keen knowledge about all varieties of alcohol. It was great to learn about the exquisite selection and the insight that she has about the town of Hayward. When you visit, you will see she has a kind heart and a great taste for what you don’t see on the liquor store shelves. I walked out with a vodka I would never expect to enjoy and I will be sure to return in the future. ?

Adequate selection of wines, not a whole lot, but most varieties are represented. The reason to go is for the liquor samplings; ended up trying some very interesting things, such as a cherry liqueur and some sipping tequila. Woman working the shop was a hoot and very knowledgeable and helpful. Prices were decent as well.

Found Cathys place last summer while wandering around Hayward. Glad I did. Cathy hooked me up with an amazing Pear Cognac and a great cigar too. Spent an hour just talking with her. Going back this week to get some more Cognac and see what else she has to tempt me.

Talk about fake reviews we know your the owner making them so stop making yourself look good when your not. Also let me tell you about the back part of this place. A random bed by the trash and once we went to go to inside and drove behind because there was no spots and litterally ran over a ladder. Why was there a random latter there who knows. Before you go there call them or something cause she’s never there when it says it’s supposed to be open. Don’t trust the sign and the google times. I’d rather go to the market place and get drinks.

I love this beautiful store, The Wine Cave has such a nice selection of wine and other goodies. Whenever my family and I are walking around town we always come in to see kathy and her welcoming smile.
