If I could give this store ZERO stars, I absolutely would. Management at this location is SEVERELY lacking in customer service skills, much to her disagreement. The manager was quite rude to me, regarding trying on clothing items close to closing time. Mind you, I had been waiting outside the fitting room to go into a room from 6:30-6:35pm, because only two of the fitting rooms were being utilized - others were locked and no employees were immediately in sight to ask to open up more. One of the employees came around several minutes later, and did eventually open up another room, so I was able to enter. My daughter was sleeping in the cart, which was initially just outside the door, but this did not make me comfortable, so I brought the cart into the fitting room. I understand it was posted on the door not to bring the cart into the fitting room for my "protection", but my daughter is more important and I am her protector. (I have also been told at other Goodwill locations that it isnt a problem to bring my cart into the fitting room if I have my kiddo with me.) She was talking loudly about me outside the door in the fitting room areas, talking to herself or to someone else, I was unsure, saying "this is why we don't let customers into the fitting room just before close and carts aren't supposed to be in the fitting room". She then made another comment about the cart being in the fitting room and the store closing soon (it was still 6:40pm and the fitting rooms supposedly closed at 6:45pm), and then I asked from inside the fitting room was someone talking to me? There was no response, another comment was made about the cart, and me asking again "are you talking to me?" She replied "you are the only one in the fitting room and with a cart, so who else would I be talking to?". Um.... completely unprofessional. I explained that my daughter was sleeping in the cart, to which I was met with silence. I was appalled that staff talk about and to customers this way. Needless to say, I threw my clothes back on, woke up my daughter, left my cart and items where they were, and walked out the store - letting her know on my way out that she could clean up the items in the fitting room for how she talked to me, that was I leaving without a purchase, and she needed to work on her customer service skills. I will not return to this location. Still debating returning to Goodwill in general. Plenty of other thrift store options available, ones where customers are treated with respect. I guess she did all that rude talking for no reason - I left the store well before 7pm, so she didn't need to worry about my cart or any remaining items I was trying on. Your loss. I will make my purchase at a different thrift store than the Franklin Goodwill, one where I am treated with respect. She seemed stressed out, but taking it out on customers is not the right choice.

I just lost my mother, I donated items to good will and they took a container I requested them not to touch off the trailer. I called them upon returning home to please find that tote of belongings I had wanted to keep. Everyone said they would look for it {mind you this was an hour and a half after coming there}. I called again the next day and yes its on camera they took it and it was sorted to other good wills the same day. To tell me " Have a good day" after taking everything I held dear of my mother and carelessly sorting it instead of taking a few minutes to set it aside was beyond heart breaking. I will never shop or donate to good will again.

For the price of 1.99 got another string of lights for my spider wall. Inspired by one of my favorite poems. The Spider and the Fly (1829)"Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,"'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,And I have many curious things to shew when you are there.""Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again.""I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high; Will you rest upon my little bed?" said the Spider to the Fly."There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,And if you like to rest awhile, I'll snugly tuck you in!""Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "for I've often heard it said,They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!"Said the cunning Spider to the Fly, "Dear friend what can I do,To prove the warm affection I've always felt for you?I have within my pantry, good store of all that's nice;I'm sure you're very welcome–will you please to take a slice?""Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "kind sir, that cannot be,I've heard what's in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!""Sweet creature!" said the Spider, "you're witty and you're wise,How handsome are your gauzy wings, how brilliant are your eyes!I've a little looking-glass upon my parlour shelf,If you'll step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself.""I thank you, gentle sir," she said, "for what you're pleased to say,And bidding you good morning now, I'll call another day."The Spider turned him round about, and went into his den,For well he knew the silly Fly would soon come back again:So he wove a subtle web, in a little corner sly,And set his table ready, to dine upon the Fly.Then he came out to his door again, and merrily did sing,"Come hither, hither, pretty Fly, with the pearl and silver wing;Your robes are green and purple–there's a crest upon your head;Your eyes are like the diamond bright, but mine are dull as lead!"Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little Fly,Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by;With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew,Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue–Thinking only of her crested head–poor foolish thing! At last,Up jumped the cunning Spider, and fiercely held her fast.He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den,Within his little parlour–but she ne'er came out again! And now dear little children, who may this story read,To idle, silly flattering words, I pray you ne'er give heed:Unto an evil counsellor, close heart and ear and eye,And take a lesson from this tale, of the Spider and the Fly.

This has been a gem for years..... however the last several months the prices are on par with Nordstrom. Today I went in and two marble book ends were $19.99 each..... Amazon is selling the same generic bookends for $8.00 a pair..... The DIAPERS are more expensive than Walgreens. The dusty crusty florals..... more than new at Joann Fabrics. I pop in once or twice a week.... its getting increasingly beyond reasonable. I have noticed oak creek and West Allis are more reasonable in their pricing.... worth the extra miles for me. I won't be returning.
