I adopted my cat from here. They were so kind and to make me feel like I was was already for my cat to come home. They answered the questions I had to the best of their knowledge. I'm so blessed to have my cat.

I love the Eau Claire County Humane Association. They have, an amazing reputation for taking in and rehoming fur babies to good fur ever homes. The team that runs the facility are very friendly, professional, and helpful. I donate monitarily and off their donation sheet whenever I am able ?

Clean and managed well. You can tell everyone cares here. I got one of my cats and my sweet dog from here. They make the adoption process easy. Ive only had 2 issues. 1) they told me my dog had to be the only dog in the household and she wasn't able to go to the dog park, but they did not specifically tell me that she was reactive. Not sure if I missed it, misunderstood, or if they aren't allowed to. It's been over 2 years and we are dealing fine but someone with less patience might have given up on her by now. I understand it might not be ideal to use the "reactive" word with prospective adopters, but it could save a lot of heartache down the road. Again, maybe I should've assumed it. In my mind, there's a difference between a dog that can't be around a bunch of loose strange dogs and a straight-up reactive dog, which she very much is the latter. Maybe Im wrong in that. But being blunt and upfront about the reactivity would've helped me prepare more. She now has a dog friend that she loves to play with. 2) when I adopted my cat they told me he was checked out by their vet before adoption and that he was a female that still needed to be spayed. Sure enough, a week later, not an hour after dropping "her" at EC animal hospital for the spay, I get a call that "she" is actually a male who had already been neutered. Of course they didn't discover this until putting him under and opening him up. So he had some unnecessary trauma, risk, and recovery time due to the humane society giving me incorrect information. But that was 7 years ago and he's thriving now. Mistakes happen. Don't hold it against them. I've also volunteered here in the past and they are pretty welcoming and helpful to new volunteers. You can tell they are grateful even for a few hours of help.

I have both adopted from and fostered for ECCHA and truly appreciate the services they provide for the animals and people in our community. They do their best to reunite lost pets with owners, to assess physical and behavioral needs, and to adopt into forever homes. I look forward to their new building, making it easier for the employees to help pets in the Chippewa Valley. My sweet cats, former ECCHA animals.

Eau Claire humane officer Kevin Vue at this office violated Wisconsin Statute 173.07 (5) (e). This state statute specifically restricts the power of a humane officer and prohibites trespassing on any property without permission and especially after being told not to tresspass.Don't be fooled by their title and intimidated by their threats, they are about as powerless as a mall cop.Read Wisconsin Statute 173.03 - 173.07 to read about their limited authority and know your rights. While searching for my neighbors loose dog, he was on my property snooping around looking for crimes and even tried to cite me for dogs that were not even mine, thankfully I know how to read a law book and got out of it.
