Advertised as pet friendly- definitely not!! Couldn't bring our dog to any public areas, not even the outside courtyard! Our whole stay was turned upside down. They also changed the rates. Will stay at Holiday Inn Express next time.
Nearby activities: The Veterans Tribute is awesome and a must see. Very nice park and restaurants surrounding the hotel

We recently spent 2 wonderful nights at the Staybridge Suites in Altoona, WI. (Eau Claire, WI area)
Things we LOVED:
-Spacious rooms with kitchenette (includes a dishwasher!) —We even got upgraded to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath + living room suite!
-Very clean hotel with friendly, hardworking staff!
-Swimming pool + hot tub
-Free Breakfast daily (Waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, etc)
-Outdoor patio furniture, tables and fire pit.
-Family friendly, dog friendly
-We observed many large groups and extended family member gatherings going on here. A great location to vacation with a large group.
-Within walking distance to the popular River Prairie Park (splash pad, man-made river for kids to swim in, playground, green space, amphitheater, events/festivals), dining, bars, coffee shops, Kwik Trip and walking/biking paths.
We’ve stayed at this hotel now 2 times and we highly recommend it.
Rooms: Large and clean. Luxurious bedding. Kitchen has pots, pans, silverware, bowls, mugs, etc. Also, full size fridge, freezer(with ice machine), dishwasher, microwave and cooktop stove.
Nearby activities: Popular local park, bike path, walking paths, festivals
Walkability: Within walking distance to the popular River Prairie Park (splash pad, man-made river for kids to swim in, playground, green space, amphitheater, events/festivals), dining, bars, coffee shops, Kwik Trip and walking/biking paths.
Food & drinks: About 4+ different restaurants (plus bars) within walking distance. Festivals with food concessions are also held in the nearby River Prairie Park.

Noteworthy details: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday complementary happy hour. A snack and a beer or wine is a great way to wind down. And it's on site and included!

This motel has nice rooms, good breakfast, enjoyable social hour Monday through Wednesday and a great staff. Kaylin and Robert do an excellent job at social hour. The receptionist when you check makes it as fast and as easy as possible to get checked in, and Shawn the maintenance guy will go out of his way to help with anything you might need. I stay in motels a lot and this motel is my 1st choice to stay anytime I’m in the area. In my opinion this is the best place to stay in Eau Claire.
Walkability: There is trails nearby if you like to walk, restaurants, grocery store with in walking distance and entertainment within walking distance if like to walk.

Each time we called for extra towels or blankets, we had to go to the front desk because only 1 employee was working…seems concerning. A tile fell in the shower and we killed 2 wasps in our short stay. Overall, not impressed. The room was well suited for the furniture, which was nice. Definitely not sure we will come back.

I have no idea how this hotel is listed as a 4-star hotel on Google: it's basically a 2-star hotel, and not the nicest 2-star I've been at. The front desk person was brusque. When we checked into the room we were dismayed to see it was very dated with a rattling AC unit. The shower head was covered in limescale, the shower room had no exhaust fan, and the grout was yellowing. The blanket on our bed wasn't even a comforter-- it was a tiny thin blanket that couldn't cover both my shoulders or my feet at the same time. (I'm 5' 8".) The breakfast was pretty decent for a hotel breakfast, and the pool was clean and was fine. Overall though I regretted booking here and would not stay here again.

It's a stretch to call it a 4-star hotel. Free breakfast and food/drinks at social hour sometimes. Outdoor area. Good price at the time, though. Hottub was too cold. Garbage disposal in the room doesn't work, which caused the sink not to drain well. Can't cook certain foods at high temp, or else the fire alarm will go off in the room. I don't think the bathroom has a standard exhaust fan for moisture, etc. Pillows aren't the best. The bed was decent. Also, they have very hot water:) Nice staff.
