First stopped here a few weeks ago. Nice little store. It will be a regular stop for us on our Jeep drives through the back roads. Had an awesome sandwich, when asked if I wanted lettuce, the lady went outside and picked the lettuce from her garden! Very friendly people and one very friendly dog that you would want to leave with. Second stop today and it was even better. I had a cheese burger the way it was meant to be! All the trimmings. So yes, there is at least ONE person in this part of WV who actually knows how to make a burger.

We recently traveled from Ohio & had the pleasure of visiting this store while on a hunting trip nearby. The area is extremely scenic, but generally remote with no phone, web or TV service. The owners define the word hospitable. They offer the use of their wi-fi & phone asking for nothing in return. When we expressed an interest in watching a 3 hour sporting event on Sunday evening, they freely offered to stay open well past closing time so we could watch the TV.

We love this place. We're cyclists and stop in before we ascend Peru Hollow road to get burritos, soda and cookies to fuel our ride. We end up staying over an hour just to chat with the owners and all the locals and non-locals that stop in. Big stuffed chair to sit in and two dogs who are the best to hang out with make it hard to leave.

A great spot for burgers, sandwiches, or just to catch up on the local news. Has plenty of everyday use sundries as well.

Wife and I went up to have supper Friday night. Real good food made and served by Mary. Good conversation with some neighbors we had not met before. Tom and Mary do all they can to welcome you to Peru General Store
