I lived in Eagle View for 4 years. Management changed to Mountain Creek Properties around the end of 2022 and we really felt a big decline after that.
The good things are the hill maintenance. It’s always clean from snow during winter. Their maintenance team is also good and on top of things.
On the other hand, they sell themselves as “Luxury” housing and I don't know where that word came from. The outside of the buildings is good looking, but inside the building everything, and I literally mean everything is cheap.
1) The wall painting comes off easily even when you touch it by hand.
2) The hardwood floor keeps squeaking all the year with variable tone between winter and summer time.
3) The bathroom faucet and sink are cheap and has a low height (I am not a tall person). The toilet bowl size is small round (Not elongated). You can take these details as you want, but I know what a luxury housing is, especially when you pay higher than the average rent in Charleston.
4) Dog poop is all over the green spaces. They talked once about DNA testing for the poop to enforce the self cleaning behavior, by tenants, but that never changed.
5) My unit basement was finished and carpeted. The door to the back yard would allow tens of spiders, cockroaches, and centipedes to crawl into the basement every week (See pictures). I had to vacuum them every week. Management came once and sprayed some repellent but it didn't work. I guess they couldn’t afford a more expensive backdoor.
6) They claimed that air filter will be exchanged every 3 months. Sometimes 6-9 months would pass without doing that until I pay attention and replace it at my expense. (See picture of a very dirty filter after being left in place for 7 months).
7) Walls are thin and you can hear the normal conversation of your neighbors. That wasn’t a problem for me as my unit had no shared walls (except the garage) but many of my friends complained about it.
8) My basement flooded twice. In the first year, there was a leak from the HVAC machine. My staff had mold growing on them before I discovered it. I was reassured it won’t happen again. Anyway, I bought a plastic cover and put it underneath my staff. Two years later the problem recurred and this time the carpet was soaked (see picture). They had to cut in the wall to fix the leaking pipes (See pictures). So much for luxury living! Did I get compensation for the damages? Of course not.
Now after moving out, they just told me that all my security deposit would be used for repairs. They want to paint the house at my expense. This is how you get rewarded after 4 years of paying the rent without missing 1 month. I regret spending 2 days cleaning the house before we left, vacuuming the spaces behind the fridge and above the kitchen cabinets, and replacing all the damaged lightbulbs before we left (BTW, they’ll charge you $10 for each light bulb that needs replacement, although, when we moved in, we had to replace some light bulbs by ourselves in the first month.
I guess when profit is their only goal, they’ll hold responsibilities towards investors and shareholders and squeeze their tenants with greed. I think, with this market, and with this greedy mindset, everyone should buy a house. I really regret not doing that. There are plenty of houses for sale in Charleston and new people move into town every year. Also for people training at CAMC, they provide housing for trainees for very reasonable prices. I doubt house prices will ever crash but at least, buying will protect you from dealing with such greedy companies.

The moving process was seamless and simple. The staff have always been friendly and helpful when I’ve called or had questions. The views from the complex are gorgeous and the amenities are well kept up and make living here a plus.

This place advertises that it is luxury but there is nothing luxury about it. There is no gate, so random people walk around up there. The pool is always broken and never opens on time. The gym is trash, and the treadmills are always broken. The apartments are NOT soundproof at all and you can HEAR/SMELL everything all around you. Also, packages get stolen all the time cause UPS/FedEx don't like to deliver to the correct apartment. I lived there for 2.5 yrs and never caused any problems, kept the apartment clean (with my own efforts), and they still did not give me back my security deposit. Don't live here. Price is crazy high for this location and lack of amenities.

The staff are wonderful, they made the moving process so simple and were very quick to respond with any questions that I had. I love the amenities that Eagle View has to offer and the apartments beautiful. If I had to make the decision over I would definitely choose Eagle View again!

Absolutely thrilled with our decision to move into Eagle View in West Virginia! From the moment we stepped foot into our new home, we've been greeted with warmth and professionalism from the staff. The amenities are top-notch, from the convenient on-site gym to the beautiful surrounding landscapes. We couldn't be happier with our choice to call Eagle View home!

The care for tenants is horrible- poor customer service. Heat in my apartment hasn't been working for last 2 days in freezing temperatures despite multiple complaints and therefore had to stay in a hotel for 2 days. Apartment manager was very rude, didn't even check on the complaint and when I forwarded the hotel bill for re-imbursement since it wasn't my fault that I had to stay in hotel; she out rightly refused to accept the blame or foot the hotel bill. Am I supposed to pay the rent of an apartment along with the hotel bill where heat isn't working in 10 F freezing temperatures??? I would say horrible care and regard for tenants; disappointing.
