Hawks Nest State Park is rich in history and an awesome place for viewing the river and hydro plant. Cabins can be rented, and there are picnic areas; in season visitors can enjoy jet boat rides. The view is amazing and the natural features – river, gorge, cliffs, trails, trees, plants, wildlife, and dark night skies – create pure air and joy. Hiking and walking are plentiful. A restaurant offers pepper jack Mac and cheese bites, and the view while eating dinner and watching the sunset is great. Staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the lodge is clean and no frills. Facilities are comfortable, prices are fair, and the park is a blessing to visitors and the planet Earth.

Nice place! Nice view! The only qualm was with maps that took us through dirt road over a one way mountain side there…
