I have been hesitant to leave a review here, but having struggled to find clear reviews of daycare as we continue our search for care, I feel I would have appreciated this warning. Our 7 month old daughter attended this location for 1 week and we had several concerns. The first was child to teacher ratio, though we had been told they complied to the state mandated ratios, more than once in less than a week we found more than 4 babies per teacher upon pick up. The second was how a lock down was handled. We received an email first thing in the morning that the daycare was on lock down and children couldn't be accepted. When the all clear was given, there was no context provided and upon calling we had to make multiple phone calls to get through- and did not get a clear answer as to why police had directed the lockdown. We thankfully had not yet brought our daughter in, but I can not imagine my panic if this was how poorly they had communicated danger and she was already in the building. When I called to express concern, I was told this is how they "usually communicate lockdowns" and did not seem to understand my concern.

This place is excellent. Communication is great, my kids have fun and look forward to going to school. The teacher really make the kids feel at home and I believe are genuinely happy to see them each day. The learning is very diverse! I couldn't Imagine my kiddos spending time any where else.

My kids have been going to Cadence for almost 3+ years and we absolutely love it! The facility is clean, secure, and the teachers love these kids like their own children. I can’t express how much love and gratitude I have for each of them who have cared for my children while I am away. My son was about to start Kindergarten, would they prepare for him for school? ABSOLUTELY.My daughter was enrolled at 3 months old, would they teach her to roll, crawl, and walk, etc? ABSOLUTELY.My children love it here and the playground is their favorite, even though my son only visits once in a while - the teachers always show him love. Once a cadence kid, always a cadence kid. Anytime there was ever an issue or concern - it has always been addressed accordingly.I appreciate the fact the program they utilize KidsReport is REAL TIME DATA uploaded into the system for parents to view of their children. I saw PHOTOS & VIDEOS of my son and my daughter learning and growing. My kids would come back everyday singing a song that I didn’t know they knew AND I knew what they ate for breakfast, lunch, and snack! What book the class read together, arts & crafts, and more! AMAZING! No paper slip summaries! All from the comfort of my phone. We will be leaving WA state and we are so sad to leave this gem! If you are looking for the best childcare in Tacoma, look NO FURTHER. Highly recommended.

Started my daughter in September, and I can honestly share that the support and communication with the staff has been amazing! The on site director, assistant director and educators have been working so well with my little one. Would absolutely recommend this to all families in the area. The Curriculum has made a difference with my child’s growth and her progress to get her ready for grade school. Thank you cadence academy! We are so grateful

The director (Ms. Esha) and lead teacher (Ms. Robyn) have done everything they can to help my kid transition to being at daycare. This is my first kid, I felt horrible leaving him when he was upset in the morning but a month later he is already waving goodbye to me and there is not a tear in sight. He has even on occasion been upset that he had to leave!

My son absolutely loves his teachers Ms. Taryn and Ms. Aretha! They are always so engaged with all the kids every time I come in to drop off or pick up. It’s a blessing to have your little one enjoy being at school and here that definitely happens!! The other day when picking up, one of the teachers had Mozart or some classical style music playing softly in the background and my little guy is currently learning ASL!! We’ve been at Cadence for about 3 months now and it’s been the best decision. It’s truly the little things that matter! 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a safe, caring and educational daycare!

*update* It’s now been 8 months since starting at Cadence and we are still so happy with all of our daughter’s teachers and her experience. She is now with Ms Karla who my daughter adores and talks about all the time. She actually wakes up WANTING to go to school. I am so happy to have such caring people to care for my daughter. I feel so blessed to not have to worry about how my child is doing everyday. She’s learning a lot and her language skills have increased TREMENDOUSLY very quickly ***Previous Review* Our almost 3-year old daughter has been attending Cadence Academy for almost 3 months now and we couldn't be more happy with our experience. Ms. Esha is amazing - she is kind, loving, helpful and patient and my daughter took to her right away. Now that she is moving up to the potty-trained class (thanks to Ms. Esha's amazing potty-training), she also has Ms. Erica as her teacher, and she is just as amazing and so kind and encouraging. Coming from a very bad experience before, it was so refreshing and comforting to see that my baby is taken care of, that she is adjusting well to her school, and that they actually encourage parents to call as much as they need to when checking on their kids. They always provide me with updates and I am always reassured that my child is doing well. We are so happy to have found Cadence Academy!

I have a 4 yr old granddaughter that attends Cadence Academy Preschool Tacoma. It has been a wonderful place for her to grow and learn. Besides having a great atmosphere, the facility is always clean and has many options for play. My granddaughter talks about Miss Ashley and Miss Erica all the time. She enjoys her days with them.

Great facility and staff. We toured with our 6 month old twins. We felt right at home and supported by the staff with all our questions and concerns. The director went out of her way to help us and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I was excited to find a school close to my house.the facility seemed clean and the staff were friendly when we did the tour my son is 3yrs.it took forever to get enrolled that’s the red flag that I ignored I couldn’t get hold of the director from day 1 I didn’t met her/him until I was reaching out to let them know my son wasn’t thriving in their Academy .she /he was very rude, agitated.I was been polite to let them know the reason I was pulling my son out of their facility. i raised my concerns the staff prior they never reached out or said a word .nothing was resolved .Been a learning and social center they said my son doesn’t want to interact with anyone so they let him be he was always alone.it broke my heart to see my son who is very social elsewhere.I knew something wasn’t right every morning when I was getting my sons ready to go to school he always said he don’t want to go to school.that was. Unusual moving from the Bay Area he cried to go to school even on Sundays.I now understand why! the director had a very negative energy waiting on me on the front door to grab my sons stuff if that’s how she/he is with children I’m sorry for those innocent souls.bad problem solver .lack professionalism.

I recently enrolled my 3 year old daughter at Cadence Academy in Tacoma. I was a little nervous about her attending school again as she has been out of daycare for the past year due to Covid. But, she has done great! Within a day or two, all the staff and teachers knew her name. When I would pick her up and I asked her if she had a good day, she’d yell excitedly ‘it was GREAT!’ Last week we were talking about what college was and I asked her what she would like to do when she grew up, she yelled ‘I want to be Miss Erica (her teacher)! She’s really nice!’. It put my mind at ease and I knew I made the right decision on sending her back to school. It’s also wonderful that they provide really great breakfast meals, lunches and snacks for the kids. One less thing for me to worry about - not having to make lunches! Woohoo!

I did weeks of research to find the right school and Cadence is the place to be! Not only are they kind, caring and loving of all the children in their care but they have an amazing education program too! I could write a book on all the amazing things about Cadence but I have limited space. If you are looking for the best childcare for your little one, this is the place to be.

My child went there for a couple of years but when he started acting differently than the other kids (he is now autistic) they kicked him out. They said they didn't have the time to be able to care for him because he didn't play like the other kids.
