A gem of a find in the depths of Pike Place Market. A good mix of new and previously owned books, packed to the rafters and smelling just like a bookstore should. The prices were fair and the selection impressive for such a small space. Worth a special trip or getting off the beaten tourist path to visit!

Awesome!! Best bookstore at the market hands down. I went to 2 others there and this one put them to shame. Really nice store and great customer service.

This is a smallish but well-organized used bookstore. I purchased a bunch of books and the prices were fair. I have a deep love for all bookstores, especially ones with used books, because that's where you find the gems. And they have some gems. This place is well worth a visit.

4 Stars for putting Kamala Harris in fiction. Really rings true with my idea that the area has a schizophrenic bent and represses realities that threaten their solipsist white male capitalist inner construct. That said, I doubt she didn't at least partially ghost write it. So that she wrote it may be a work of fiction, but that she exists is not. Well how's that for a philosophical problem. That said the philosophy was good. They had Alexis dT but I didn't pick it up because it was pretty expensive and I'm on a budget even though I've been wanting to for awhile. There's an extensive gender section, which is awesome, and a whole culinary writing section which is also awesome.I would've thought the philosophy would've been cheaper given its very "used, charming bookstore" feel but it was still over my budget for the day. Only reason for 4/5 stars. They have a whole shelf set aside for one of my favorite publishers of fiction. Recently read a flop from them so haven't picked up with the other pieces of theirs I've had but this reminded me to not give up just because of one bad apple from a publisher.

An excellent place with good yet old books. Give it a go. You will not regret it. The owners and employees there are a cool and knowledgeable bunch, so ask 'em if they got the titles you're looking for.

This bookstore sections are really well labeled, making it easy to browse the genres you're interested in. They had a large stack of almost every Bill Bryson book written. It was fun to browse and look at the books within the context of Pike Place Market. Wander in, browse, read, and discover a new author or topic. Bookstores are like portals into other worlds.

Tucked away in Pike Place Market, this is such a cute little shop with a ton to offer. Cheap books on the outside, and your typical genres on the inside. But! There are a couple of display cases with older books, which were fun to look at. There's also a typewriter that you can't use, but it just adds a bit of charm to the shop. They also have older children's books, which was fun to look through! I'm a huge s***** for book stores, and Lamplight definitely did not disappoint!

I am a s***** for book stores and it doesn't matter where I am- if we see a bookstore, we end up going in. We had just got into town and our first stop was Pike Market and this was the second shop I wandered into. John found a couple of books and I found some children books I used to read when I was little that I couldn't resist buying for my grandson! Happy buying and even happier reading!

By far my favorite bookstore in Pikes Place Market. First, for the size, I felt like it had such a good variety and definitely didn't seem to favor certain genres over the others - making it a good choice for most book browsers. Second, the staff was fantastic. I just asked their favorite book and she was able to give me so many recommends...one of which I ultimately bought. I wish I had more time to browse, but, should I ever return to Seattle, would definitely head back to Lamplight!

Getting lost in a bookstore that's below pike place market, filled to the brim with books? Yes please!! I've been to this market a bazillion times and never noticed ! Till now. Glad I did. Such a cute little spots with all things favorites from my childhood. A type writer you couldn't type, resist the urge! $1 books outside. Travel books. Mainly the young adult section around all the Harry potters book, diary of a wimpy kids and so on. Such a cute little spot!!

This bookstore is tucked into the corner on one of the many levels at Pikes Place Market. I had passed by it & decided to come back as it grabbed my attention & I found it welcoming & cozy. I found two books that were on my list to read. It's a nice little place to stop by with a bit of everything. The girl who rang me up was super friendly & kind. I felt comfortable in the store & the check out process was quick. Also, they use paper bags for check out! Yay for no plastic bags. :)

Lamplight Books is another independent bookstore in Pike Place Market. They sell mainly or just used books. It was great to see books that have been out of print for some time as well cookbooks by some of Seattle's best known chefs such as Tom Douglas. Great place to browse as it has a chill vibe and it's inside the market so away from the crowds. A good find to buy a book or kill some time.

Out of a movie. Bookstore tucked away in a busy market with vendors selling tourist bait. Then you have a used bookstore selling great books for great prices. Had a lovely chat with the staff about Lolita. That was a crazy 5 minutes. Anyways I picked 3 books for only $12!!!!
