At Interlake kids are really at the center of things. My preschooler knows the names of the admin team as well as the teachers in her classroom, because they all really want to spend time around kids. I have found Interlake community members adaptable, interested in child safety and development, diversity-minded, and kind. The staff and teachers are eager to work with parents, and the emergent curriculum lets children lead and succeed. The facility is a quirky old house that lends itself to phrases like "drop off is at the hobbit door". That space, combined with the great meals cooked in-house each day, give the center a homey feel. Inside the preschool classrooms there are traditional tiny tables and activity spaces for free play, as well as quiet 'loft' spaces filled with soft materials and sensory toys for times when kids need a space to themselves. Emotional learning is as much a part of the day as drawing and dramatic play. Each age group has a large play space outdoors, with toys as well as natural materials to explore in all seasons. At pick up time, it's hard to convince my kiddo to leave these spaces!

We absolutely love Interlake. Our Daughter has been at ICC for over 2.5 years and will complete Pre K here before heading off to Kindergarten. From the day we started attending ICC we were impressed by the community, caring staff, school values, and the student led, exploratory curriculum. In addition, the focus on inclusion as well as empathy and emotional intelligence is incredible. We’ve watched our daughter grow into a confident, independent, caring, intelligent, four year old and it has everything to do with the staff and families in the ICC community. We couldn’t recommend a better school for young kiddos!

We love Interlake! Our son has been in the toddler room for almost a year. Every day he eats nutritious, vegetarian, homemade meals (e.g., zucchini quesadilla and sopa de fideo, farfalle in corn sauce), participates in a variety of play-based activities (e.g., music class, sensory bins, planting seeds, yoga), and builds relationships with his friends and teachers. They really try to build a community with parents, teachers, and admin through events (e.g., spring potluck, harvest festival), volunteer opportunities (e.g., class field trips, work parties), and parent-teacher conferences. My husband and I review the activity feed on Brightwheel and we're jealous of all the fun he is having!

The facility is an old house but the teachers are truly amazing. It’s a small daycare center compared to Horizon and other bigger companies. It’s LGBTQ friendly when it come to the teachers and it’s very diverse. They are truly dedicated and take very good care of the kids. Food are home made vegetarian food. The backyard is a great for playing outside!

We love Interlake! The teachers are such caring and warm individuals. The outdoor play space is the best - kids climb trees and dig in the sand. They have a wonderful chef that makes nutritious, vegetarian meals and the admin staff arrange events to make you feel a part of the community, too.

The people - teachers, staff, kids, parents, alumni - are what make Interlake truly great (and the food program!) and worthy of anyone's consideration for childcare and development! I challenge anyone to find a more caring group of administrators, caregivers, and teachers in what is normally a high-turnover, very challenging work environment.

Was told I am a "right fool" for the safety concerns I have for my son. Thanks Brandon.

Interlake was a wonderful home for both of our children. We owe so much of who they are to the school. From the scratch-made vegetarian food to the vast outdoor space, Interlake was exactly the cozy and homey place our little ones needed to thrive and prepare to launch.

What a loving and caring group of people. ICC cares so much about the interests and development of the children in their care, and it shows in all of the quirky and fun activities that emerge. ICC is a real victor when it comes to play-based education, seamlessly weaving teachable moments into the focused play children are so immersed in. The families are an amazing, vibrant community committed to supporting the school and children as a whole. The magic of childhood exists in this school.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND ICC to anyone looking for outstanding child care and early development from exceptionally caring and highly educated individuals. We are currently putting two children through the system and have been extremely pleased with curriculum, cleanliness, safety, food/nourishment, outdoor play and the great deal of affection and care staff show our children and all the children that attend ICC.What really sets ICC apart from any other daycare and preschool in the area, is their NAEYC ACCREDITATION (Relationships, Curriculum, Teaching, Assessment of Child Progress, Health, Staff Competencies/preparation/support, families, community relationships, physical environment, and leadership/management). NAEYC is the world's largest organization of early childhood professionals - and collectively, they've assembled this list of standards as what they believe all early childhood programs should provide... well good thing for us, Interlake checks all these boxes. In addition to their NAEYC accreditation, their outdoor play facilities, and in house chef (focused on solely vegetarian dishes - Brookie keeps our kids well fed!!) are all reasons we feel confident we have made the best choice in childcare for our children. Please, do not let negative, nit-picky and slanderous reviews stop you from reaching out to this administration. This community (which has been running since the early 80's I believe) has been a wonderful place for our children and for us as a family.

Please note some of the reviews listed by fake names are not true reviews, they are spammers or individuals looking to impersonate former staff/parents/etc. Note: "Va Hol" is not me.ICC has been a stronghold in the community for many years. This well establish program paved the foundation for many other surrounding centers. The staff and parents here are truly dedicated to the center and give their all to ensure they are constantly improving the program.Every child care center you research will have positive and negative feedback posted. It is unfortunate that the average person will not leave a review only very disgruntled former staff. Or parents that have happened to have an unfortunate, abnormal experience (which they have every right to communicate this). The same goes for the other side, former or current staff/parents who have had amazing, life changing experiences. Please know the truth lies somewhere in between. Visit the school, talk to the staff, and decide for yourself.

Really great school, feels like a big family here. A truly unique place with a staff that passionately cares about these kids.Reading the one star reviews makes me sick; don't believe them as they're making up stories. If you are worried about such fraudulent claims, take a tour and see for yourself! If even half of those things were true the school would be shutdown, so the fact it isn't should tell you which reviews to believe.

After securing a fulltime spot for our infant to start in Jan - through a large payment - management informed us, last min, right before the Christmas Holliday, that a scheduling error would prevent our son from attending on Mondays. That error was there for them to correct for almost two months when we made the payment. Luckily, we were able to find and secure, the very next day, a fulltime spot at another daycare. Interlake however refuses to pay back the full amount we deposited, under the pretext that they were able to free a spot for us after all. Just by coincidence, they cashed out the deposit check a day before breaking the news to us. This opportunistic administration is trying so hard to keep their head above water and did slip at a couple of occasions that they were having trouble filling up the spot. They just saw an opening to extract a considerable amount of money from a young family. They owe me $1,000 after they accepted to only reimburse part of the payment through fierce negotiation over the phone, while abroad, on our first family Christmas trip and 3weeks before the scheduled start date. After all, it is probably for the best since both my wife and I noticed a lingering smell throughout the facility that might corroborate what other reviewers reported. The facility is old and neglected compared to other facilities in the area. No one should have to deal with dishonest people and I would highly discourage any family from considering that place for their lack of integrity.
