I live a couple blocks away from this store so it's close. But there's an older lady that works there and she really is the sweetest thing. She has let me bring money back later when I didn't have enough to cover what I purchased. Thank you

It's my neighborhood Ma and PA little store. I've been going to this store for over 40 years. I love the cashiers and the owner. Awesome people.

I have been coming here nearly every day for 7 years now. This place has family friendly staff. The owners are caring, nice and still work around the store regularly. It has a charming old country store feel that sets it out from places like the surrounding gas stations and mini-marts. If its possible to stop here to and from work, or, while on errands you will usually find Aunty Evelyn (who does not put up with B.S.), Miss Stephanie, the lil sis that always knows what you need , or the family owners there to greet you with a smile and some humor.. You rarely find a small town mart this vested in the neighborhood folks. They aren't customer service they're community providers. A+!

My husband has been going into this store almost every day for the last few months to get his Monster and 5-Hour Energy drinks, mostly after his early morning shifts at UPS in Fife. In fact, he drives about 10 minutes past our house to give him business as we like to support our local stores. This morning, hubby bought 4 Monster drinks, has his usual pleasant exchange with the owner, then went back to the car to have one of the drinks explode. He went back into the store to let the owner know and ask to have it replaced. The manager immediately accused him of doing something to the product instead of replacing it in good faith or even telling him that they don't replace items. Naturally, this didn't settle well with my husband, who was going to simply buy a replacement and not go back in again. The owner was going to grudgingly give him the replacement, but his attitude was so irksome that he told the owner he wasn't going to be back again. At that point, the owner demanded that he hand the drink to him and refused to let him have it afterall, telling him he could have the one that burst. When he got back to the car, a second drink burst. It makes no good business sense to accuse a customer of damaging something intentionally to get a "free" one. What does he gain from doing that? It's not like he can consume a can of drink that's burst. Replacing defective product is the customary way that businesses show good faith to their customers, that we can trust them and continue to do business with them. We won't be giving him business any longer, and neither will our family. And you can bet that as with any other customer treated in this manner, we'll be telling this story to others. Do better. Don't be insulting on top of cheap. If you just had a bad day, everyone has them. Just apologize.

Hi-Way Market is a basic convenience store right on Bethel-Burley road - about midway from Mullinex to Sedgewick roads - just a tad South of Arrow Lumber. I'm sure at one time, it was more of a local grocery type market, with isles offering limited selections of basic necessities. And to some extent it is - but not like the Burley Store or Olalla Store, both in the same general area but further away than where I live. Think of Hi-Way Market as a "beverage store" - isle after isle of beverages - sodas, energy drinks, and beer of all flavors and sizes. They also have a "basic convenience store" selection of snacks - but not too much or too deep. I like them because they are one of only two stores in the area that carry the canned beer I like - Miller 64 (Fred Meyer at Sedgewick is the only other one and they're a pain to get in and out of - especially at quitting time). The staff at Hi-Way are super friendly - especially the Scottish gal who's been there forever - she's a sweetie. The owner and his family - same thing - always welcoming and nice. I do wish they'd go a little deeper into "home necessities" though - or even fire up the old kitchen in the back and go back to having a deli case and such. But for what it is, I like it. It serves the purpose for many in the Bethel community.
