George Merrill is the rare meld of artist and craftsman. As an artist myself, the way my work is framed is essential to the completion of my vision and its success in catching the eye of a viewer.
From the beginning of working with Waterfront, I was met with warmth, enthusiasm and vision. George, owner of Waterfront, uses vast materials and skills from gold leaf, rare and exotic woods, bole, to simple/more common materials . Waterfront carries on the tradition of expert construction and craftsmanship while also playing with creative forms and modern advances in technology. I will never use another framing company.

Since my frames were back ordered, George made two gorgeous custom frames for me. They were reasonably priced and done very quickly. The mats were great too. I frame a lot of artwork and I’m very happy that George is on the island. (Photo is of a beautiful Mikio Watanabe mezzotint print in a beautiful frame!)

George is a true craftsman who is dedicated to quality, creativity, and supporting artists. I balked at using African-sourced wood to frame my image, wanting to choose something sustainably sourced. George not only found local wood, but milled it himself to match my frame specifications and created a perfect black finish, surpassing anything available on the market. Our framing project was a creative collaboration, much better than the sum of its parts. George is passionate about his work, dedicated to his customers, and a treasure to work with.

George did an amazing job framing the painting of my beloved dog who passed away. He color matched and was so kind!
