How the mighty have fallen. We have taken our dogs and cats to LTV since 1998, with complete confidence until the practice was sold to a conglomerate assembly-line chain a few years ago. Service has gone way down hill as prices have soared, and we just experienced the last of 2 straws; just to make sure we were giving them a fair shot. The first shot was when our 7-year-old overweight kitty passed her physical with flying colors in February. I asked for a senior blood panel even though she was not that old, just to see if there might be some reason she kept packing on weight. I was dismissed with a "oh, she's perfectly healthy; there's no need" and sent on my way. the following week she wasn't eating but looking more overweight in spite of it; and not going #2. We couldn't get in to Lake Tapps (as usual - they must find it hard to keep adequately staffed), so we took her to Orting Vet because they could get her in; and by this time her breathing was very labored. It took them 1 X-ray to determine her abdomen was riddled with tumors, and she had fluid around her lungs. We had to let her go the same day so she wouldn't suffer further. I should have known better than to trust LTV after that - my mistake. I called on 7/3 to see if they could give us something to help our lab with 4th of July anxiety - he suffers more year-by-year as the fireworks get louder and more numerous. We were prescribed 2 to 3 100 mg tabs of tramadol, of which I gave 2 to our poor dog, thinking I was being conservative. I had to shake him awake and drag him out of his crate, 2 mornings in a row, after the original 2 tabs, and nothing more. He was lethargic af until morning #3, when he began to behave as his old self. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had given him 3 tabs. Everywhere I look online indicates 1 to 2 tabs; not 2 to 3 for a 67-pound dog, who happens to be an otherwise-healthy 13 years old. I asked for a call from the so-called Dr at LTV, and when she bothered to call several days later, she had nothing to say but excuses, and sorry I'm not happy. Our records are now being transferred to Orting Vet, who don't know our animals from Adam, but managed to give us the proper care in February.

The staff here is incredible. My dogs are my babies. At this clinic, I feel the staff agrees and treats them as such.

The staff at Lake Tapps Vet is top notch. Not only are they caring and attentive to our pets but they are so kind to us humans, too! I would recommend them over and over! Anyone that asks me about where I take my pets, I tell them Lake Tapps is the absolute best.

I gave them a call to learn more information about their services and Debby was very short and passive when I asked questions. I felt there was a lack of care in our discussion and a bothersome for calling.

Very good veterinary! We took our two big dogs there for checkups. The Vet spent a good deal of time checking our dogs over well. All the employees were very nice and pleasant.

EDIT below: I had no idea this office partakes in the outdated and absolute barbaric mutilation of cats feet by declawing. It’s illegal in many states and countries for a reason. Knowing this now I’m appalled this is still being done and not refused by this office. Place has zero compassion for cats. Despicable and shameful.EDIT : to the response of the business if you look at the review most recent before mine it clearly states she brought two cats to your office to be declawed, (just two weeks ago) so either you’re lying or that person never came to your office and accidentally commented that 5 star review? I’ll gladly take my review down if you can confirm it’s the commenter who is lying and not your office.

Great local vet! They take amazing care of all the animals they see and are reasonably priced.

Even though I told them I want to go to veterinarian closer to my home and it didn’t work out. They welcome back with open arms. Debbie is the best and so is Dr Stohr all the people that work at Lake Tapps Veterinary hospital are very very classy. We are so lucky to be able to use it.

It's difficult to get in here and appointments are scarce. They seem to be continually short staffed. However, if you can get in, they are amazing. They have taken exceptional care of our pups and don't gouge for unnecessary procedures/treatments. They all truly love animals and show it.

Loved taking our new pup here. Good check in, good checkup, doctor was nice and friendly. Answered all of our questions. The only thing I don't like much is the call and check in from the car thing.. Seems unnecessary these days, but I understand the reason and is only a small inconvenience. Highly recommend this vet!

Everyone was really helpful until I called in that my puppy had gotten into a bag of sugar free candy and they just gave me the number for Animal Poison Control and told me nothing else. It's like they didn't care at all if my dog lives or dies.

I don’t usually do these kind of reviews but my experience here was so much better than I have been receiving at Timber Ridge I thought I needed to. I would absolutely recommend this Veterinary clinic.

ALL ABOUT MONEY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Both people I spoke with refused to give ANY information about the price, even a minimum amount it would be for a much-needed eye-removal surgery. I got a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how they couldn't know how long it would take until they saw my cat. They were insensitive, unkind and even snarky when talking about the care of my beloved pet. My elderly mother is on a fixed income and needs SOME idea of what a surgery would cost. They refused to give any indication and said that if we "refuse to follow their protocol" they can't do the surgery. Not impressed. Very disappointing attitude in people who are supposed to be caring for people's pets. Not recommended.

Everyone was very kind, the doctor knowledgeable and gave me peace of mind about my dogs new masses, and I know Dillon got nothing but snuggles and love while he was in the treatment area! Sorry for all the dog hair ?
