This is the third bad experience at this location. First time my daughter had come back positive for Covid and then was told that her dad and I had to be tested. Next thing we know they didn’t bill Veterans affairs for her dad’s visit and he got a bill and being told he’s responsible for. The second bad experience I went in for a foot issue. I had an online check in time and sat there for 15 mins past that time. When questioning as to why found out the person that the staff called back was a walk in being seen before an appointment. I was told they didn’t have a X-ray tech and could send me to downtown Suffolk or be sent to Sentara for X-rays. I chose Sentara as it was not out of my way. The np said she would call me with the results before closing. I heard nothing and tried calling multiple times with no answer for a week. Finally a week later someone calls to give me the results that I already knew. Today was the final straw for this location though. I had an online appointment for my daughter. I arrived 35 mins prior to my appointment time after the last experience in case of any issues. The receptionist looked like she was the least bit interested in being there as she was playing on the computer. She told me have a seat and would check me in before my appointment. Another parent and their kid walked in and was told the same thing. Finally after sitting for about 15 mins she asked for me to come up. She said that she needed my daughters insurance card even though she’s been there several times before. But I handed it to her as I was mind boggled. The next thing I got was oh well I need a debit card to put $1 on for today’s visit even though we have Medicaid for her. I questioned this and the next thing is oh I cannot verify her insurance and the $1 is to get you in the back and you will be responsible for todays visit. I said that is not correct as my child has insurance along with Medicaid doesn’t require something like this. But she kept insisting my child didn’t have insurance. I told her I am sorry but obviously you are not doing something right and to cancel the appointment in front of other parents waiting. I then took her right down to Sentara and was told they had absolutely no problems getting her insurance verified and seen within a hour.

Came here Dec 6th got an exam. Paperwork says if results not posted to lab Corp portal within 2 weeks to call provider. Waited on hold for 48mins asked for results never even got to provide my name apparently they were to busy no one came back on the line. I’m here TODAY Dec 21st got told by receptionist I have to make another appointment so they can go over lab results with me. WHATTTT? I’ve been sitting here for an hour already. I’ll never come back should have stuck with patient first.All of this AFTER my initial visit went horrible as well. Checked in online for 10am appointment. Check in clerk was HORRIBLE. Said she didn’t see me and was supposed to do her portion at her computer after I checked in at the kiosk. So now I had to be treated as a walk in since it took her an hour to realize. Took 3!hrs to get seen. Appointment was 10 left after 1

The medical assistant Mahogany and the provider Alice Callis were excellent! They were friendly and efficient, and I appreciate their help and kindness. This made my sick visit such a good experience! Thank you!

I went to this urgent care a few days ago because I had some concern after having some chest pain. When we went it the lady at the front door looked shocked to even see a customer and was very unprofessional. First thing she said was we’re only doing virtual today and we’re closing at 4:00pm and it was 3:03pm. So if you’re closing at 4:00pm you don’t help customers with an hour left? What about the whole virtual thing if your only doing virtual then why leave the door unlocked but better yet why be open.

Looked up this facility and was able to be seen that day with an appointment. Friend staff and relatively quick to be seen. Was able to get the medication that day with the prescription we received. Great staff and doctors.

Velocity urgent Care is a wonderful center to go into I walked in receptionist took look at me and knew that I wasn't feeling well she walked me to the kiosk process she brought the paperwork to me .after that the nurse came out called me and the nurse was compassionate understanding she knew I wasn't feeling well she was easy with me she helped me to get settled into the exam room . the doctor came in she looked at me she knew I wasn't feeling well. she understood my pain she talked to me she gave me information on how to take care of myself.let me know that I would get a prescription I would have better relief call me back if if I needed more help I would recommend velocity to anyone

I had the best experience at this facility. There was not a long wait to be seen and the NPR was extremely informative, patient, and kind. She even came out to answer a question I had forgotten to ask after I left the room. The provided written details about my visit were extremely helpful too.

Super easy to schedule online & the portal makes uploading docs even easier. I walked in at mr appointment time, was seen in 5 minutes & diagnosed with prescriptions in less than 30 minutes. Much easier than a trip to the ER.

Unprofessional service from the intake clerk. The clerk never asked my name. After standing an the counter for 8 min she asked me to have a seat. A few walk-ins came behind me and she asked for them to come back tomorrow. The tried to leave their names but her response was "I don't need. I will remember your face." I could tell the customers were Not okay with that response. When it was time to give a urine sample the clerk handed me the specimen cup without gloves and she dropped the top and wipe on the floor, picked it up and handed it to me. I was not given instructions on when to place the cup after capturing the sample. Before I was called to the back the same clerk asked to confirm my insurance information but then picked up her mobile phone to read a message and never looked up again. While I watched the clerk intensely read her message the nurse called me to the back. My experience with the staff in the exam room was very pleasant-thank God. I appreciate the professionalism and attentiveness that every patient should receive. I hope the manager reads this review and have an 1:1 or a training refresher with the clerk. I would Absolutely give 5 stars for the staff in the back & 1 star for the intake clerk.

Justin Griffin, NP, from the Harbourview location rocks!!! The young lady who did my triage was so professional and nice. He listened to my concerns and didn't rush the visit. May God continue to bless the work of His hands!!!

A perfect 10...the best experience we have ever had at a urgent care or any medical clinic. The staff showed concern, was friendly and extremely approachable. The visit was fast and easy. We will never go anywhere else.

Although the whole process took a bit longer than expected, everyone was happy, kind, and thorough which made me not mind the length. I felt comfortable and the facility was clean. I will definitely use them again for physicals.

Excellent staff, from the front desk to the exam room; efficient, polite, personable and most of all extremely competent in their profession. Felt like I was in good hands, and was confident in the service.

I was able to get in very quickly, get tested right away and diagnosed within minutes. I've had great experiences at Velocity each time I've been there. And the staff and medical personnel are wonderful! Thank you.

Courteous and helpful front desk staff. Jason Griffin NP is knowledgeable and thoroughly answered all my questions. I was in and out in about 30 minutes which is fabulous for an urgent care appointment. Highly recommend this service for urgent, non-emergent care.
