Super craft store with great sales and easy self checkout. We were able to get in and out quickly twice on Thanksgiving Eve Day. The staff were super helpful and friendly too! We needed to get more melting chocolate and cookie icing for our Thanksgiving Day dessert preparations.

I picked up a wreath I ordered. It needed some repairs but was otherwise fine. Couldn't find lots of things that were supposed to be in stock (pre black friday). No staff on the floor. The staff at the register weren't friendly at all. There were only 2 people at the checkout. They still have neat things and are good for crafting. Quality and customer service have gone downhill.

The store is full of wonderful items, but it's hard to give a store even 3 stars when the hired staff teaches you to ring yourself out. The effort they took to help replace their job, they could've just rung me up. I know a lot of stores are moving to this model, but I prefer if I'm coming to shop, not to be temporarily employed for a job that I've not applied nor am getting paid. I have a job and I give 110% while working. Why does my shopping experience seem more like work? The staff at many of these places just sit and watch or converse while the customers have to figure out their systems, struggle with bagging, and etc. It makes me wonder if this is what was intended at the corporate level: replace customer service or if the staff has found a way to get paid without actually working?

I don’t leave reviews often but I just got off the phone with the manager of this location. She made me feel like she was rushing me off the phone and like my. questions on my DIY project were annoying her. She was unfriendly and I’d imagine that someone in a lesser position might have been more helpful. What’s the point of answering the phone with “Thank you for call Michaels. How can I help you make your project today?” if you sound annoyed to help and refer me to Google for the answers to my questions. Literally, “That’s a question for Google, ma’am, I can’t help you.”

You have to check yourself out, there's no other option. I already work full time, I'm not going somewhere where I have to be a free cashier. Has a small selection anyway.
