Service department was not courteous and did not assist in getting my telluride power seat control fixed in accordance with the safety recall.

Had a good buying experience at First Team Kia Suffolk. The sales rep, CJ, was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and not pushy. He and his sales manager, Alex, respected my time and came to a deal that was that was a win win. The same can be said of Jessie, the warranty sales rep. Upon delivery of the vehicle, CJ went over all of the electronics on the vehicle and made sure that I was comfortable with its operations. This is the second vehicle I have purchased from First Team Kia and I also will be bringing this vehicle to their service dept.

I live across the water and choose to come to First Team Kia of Suffolk over any other Kia dealership in my area. Their customer service is top notch. I purchased my first car from them two years ago, and recently traded that car in with them for a new car purchase. They are worth the travel across the water; great car servicing, always welcoming, and excellent customer service.

You can ALWAYS measure the greatness of a company and its management by its front line employees. We always look upon them as the CEO’s of First Impressions. First Team Kia, in our opinion, has an efficient and effective sales process, consultative and not combative. A breath of fresh air.
Our sales person, Phil Waters was customer focused, and possessed a wealth of product, industry and competitive knowledge. As Maya Angelou once wrote (I Know Why the Caved Bird Sings) and I paraphrase “all knowledge is spendable currency, depending on the market. “ His knowledge assisted us greatly during the buying process.
We invested in a Kia model asset in 2015. The product’s life cycle cost and the service received over the years of ownership from First Team Kia led the way for a repeat purchase (2) in 2024.
We are net promoters of First Team Kia. Our overall experience has been great???

The whole team, Jasmine, Joe, and Levi, were wonderful from start to finish! This is my second Subaru from First Team. Great experiences both times.

My concerns were heard, additional items were addressed with a video from the service team and there was no pressure to fix additional items. Their pricing was competitive as well.

Thursday was my first time visiting this location. I came in for service on my 2013 Kia Rio. The service technician Patrick had me in and out in no time and handled everything that needed to be done along with answering all of my questions. I will definitely be back and recommend this location over any other Kia dealerships. I did not receive an email to take the survey.

Phillip was such an amazing help. I’ve purchased my first vehicle Nissan Altima 2020 on my own through First Team KIA and thanks to him it was an amazing and thorough experience. ?

This is a lengthy review, because I am truly gobsmacked with this dealership!
I am at my wits end with the First Team Kia Suffolk, Virginia’s service department. I have a 2023 Kia Sportage that I used to love. For the last six months it’s been misfiring on the same cylinder. I have been told not once, not twice, but THREE different times that the fuel is contaminated and it’s been three different gas stations. They tell me to use higher graded fuel, I do and what happens, the same thing. They NEVER send the sample to be tested they put it in a damn mason jar and say “look see it’s contaminated.” To add salt to the wound I am basically being told to have the sample tested my damn self, even though they are the ones saying it’s contaminated!!
I am no longer going to sit back and keep giving them money for repairs just for it to misfire every 13/14 days and I be told the same thing over and over again. I even told the service manager that if it happens again, fuel will be blamed and guess what….it was! I don’t even want to put gas in it because I am fearful it’ll happen again and fuel will be to blame. This is freaking ridiculous. It’s gotten so bad that I have now sought legal representation, because I know that the reality is they don’t know what’s wrong my car and blaming bad fuel is the simplest answer.
Read this post throughly my car is a 2023 and THREE times in a row the engine’s misfire has been blamed on bad fuel. THREE TIMES AND THREE DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. It misfires roughly 13 to 14 days after they say it’s been repaired! EVERY TIME! My car is not an anomaly, I have read about other 2023 Sportage’s with similar or the same issue! First Team Kia in Suffolk refuses to cover it under warranty. Yes, that 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty that Kia loves to tout!
UPDATE 2 JULY 2024: After the third misfire incident management offered to cover the repairs. They performed the same repairs that were done the second time (of which I was charged $1300). I was appreciative of him calling me and offering of which I accepted. In his defense he did sound sincere regarding the issues I have been having with my Sportage. However, 9 days later the car shut off in the middle of the road. My infotainment center went berserk telling me to put the car in park and start the car! I was able to restart the car and safely make it to my sister’s home where the car began to misfire again! It had to be towed for the fourth time to Kia and two weeks later, it’s still there!
UPDATE 14 AUG 2024: I just picked my car up for the 4th time, but I am compelled to update my review. This is regarding the Service Manager, Paul Holbert, Jr. He and his technician, went above and beyond to determine the cause of my car’s issues. I appreciate him taking the time to drive my vehicle, for over a month, to determine the issue. Though it worked fine for him during his diagnosis, they still cannot determine the cause of the car’s issue. However, I am hoping that it doesn’t happen again. I appreciate the extra time Paul took to attempt to diagnose the issue. For that, I have increased the stars from 1 to 3. Hopefully, I can enjoy my Sportage, because I truly do love the car.
