This Valero in S Boston is a fairly nice convenience store with good fuel prices...

Staff was very nice, store was average. Pumps are not Valero pumps, they appear to be repurposed Sheetz pumps. When I asked the very nice clerk if their pumps pump Valero gas they said yes, but did not know what Top Tier means, so I don't know what I was actually pumping into my vehicle.

Stopped 01DEC20. Guess it is not just them but also the Sheetz and the Travel center. Gas was $2.09 at all 3. The Valero entering Danville 26 miles straight down the road was 27¢ cheaper. I am not one to pick my places to get gas over even a nickel but why are they all so much higher than the rest of the region. I did get gas the next day at the EXxon in South Boston on 360 across the James River only about a mile off 58. It was $1.84 that was a quarter cheaper and only 2 miles away. I hadn't noticed this before about South Boston but will be traveling through next week and if I notice the same thing I will know to avoid stopping there unless it is to get something to eat at Gene's Orange Market. Hate to rate someone bad for gas prices. Maybe nice people and good prices inside but I thought it seemed high so only got a few gallons and didn't even go in.
