Great accommodations and very hospitable.
Rooms: Very cozy and clean.
Walkability: Easy to walk and everything is close to enjoy family foods and or just enjoying the nightlife.
Food and drinks: Plenty of varieties of food and drink with a very diverse menu downtown.

First of all, the Service is totally fine and everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect to see the city - Restaurants and Bars are within 2-3 minutes walk.
We stayed here at least 4 times for Business trips but this was the last time. Your rooms SMELL BAD! We‘ve had to change rooms the last time and this time my room is stinky again. It smells like the changing room of a Football team after a really exhausting game. Sorry but this is a no-go in a 300$/Night Hotel. No water in the rooms is another minus… sorry but you have to work on this to gain our trust again.
The breakfast is way too bad for the price too. Waffles and artificial scrambled eggs, muffins and apples. No!

The reception was warm and welcoming when I arrived. I had a room with a king bed and thought the mattress was comfortable. The shower could use some updating but I did appreciate the small ledge to assist with shaving. The breakfast was hot and well stocked.

I upgraded my room to a balcony. Right when we got into our room we could see that it was not clean. I checked the balcony and it was filthy and covered in bird poop. The room had bugs, tons of wear, torn carpet, and even a hole in the boxspring. We had housekeeping come up and check the issues and was told it is what it is. They said they would not clean the bugs or any of the issues because the hotel is only 8 years old and not scheduled for refurbishments for another 2 years. I was dumbfounded. I we t down to speak with the front desk lady who seem annoyed that housekeeping could not help. I ask for another room and she said she would just cancel our reservation because they were sold out. I agreed and we left. Now we had no where to stay until I found another hotel a few hours away. Terrible all around.

Excellent service from wonderful staff who were very helpful to us during our stay ! Rooms are clean. Only wish is to add dark roast coffee, not just light roast.

We stayed for one night while visiting the town for the first time. Great location, clean rooms. Great service. The room with the mountain view was a plus.

I am giving this hotel 5 stars for 2 great employees! On the way to the hotel we called and spoke with Keo, he was so helpful and accommodating and really helped us while we were trying to figure out our timing with a hike to McAffe Knob. We ended up booking an extra night, then checked out early in the evening to catch our flight. Mother Nature brought a hurricane and our flight was canceled. Kenesha was great and helped us work through our issue. We truly appreciate these 2 employees as we were on a special 50th friend birthday trip, and we got to have a great experience while in Roanoke because of these 2 employees!

A lot of convenient places nearby. Rooms were not very clean, carpet was dirty and stained with what looked like a slushy spill from the previous person. Hotel staff do not respect the do not disturb signs—I had a scare when they tried to open the door but thankfully the deadbolt was engaged. The parking situation was very confusing and not clearly explained.
Rooms: Microwave, mini fridge, and mini kitchen sink included in our room.
Walkability: Lots of places to walk to nearby since it’s in the downtown area
Food and drinks: Many restaurants within walking distance. Free breakfast in hotel lobby. Snack shop in hotel lobby as well.

Absolute joke of a hotel. 8:30am on Sunday and no breakfast, no coffee. Staff are the most unprofessional I've ever seen. Bathtubs are grimy, caulking is gross. Not worth the money at all.
Edit: front desk is "doing it all" but just went for a smoke break

The hotel is fine. Location is perfect - everything is within walking distance.
I placed a reservation over the phone a few days in advance of my stay. When I arrived, I was mistakenly charged a second time for the room. I pointed it out to the front desk, and they assured me that it was normal and would be reversed within 48 hours.
It was not. When I complained to Hampton Inn, they said they would mail me a check for the amount (over $150). This is absolutely not a reasonable solution to this problem. I asked if they could not simply reverse the charges and they said no. I asked them to reconsider - and said if they didn't I would write a negative review. So here we are.
Nice hotel. Perfect place. Terrible customer service. I won't be using Hampton Inn again if I can avoid it.
Edit - in response to the reply to my review - it isn't an unexpected charge, it's a completely erroneous charge. I pointed it out when it happened and was assured it would be reversed. I pointed it out at checkout. I've had about 8-10 emails back and forth with your customer service trying to sort it out, as they are asking for extensive documentation of the charges (wouldn't that all be readily available in your accounting system and your reservation system). It's infuriating. It has been three weeks and I haven't yet seen and confirmation that your company has intentions of giving my money back for the extra room I was apparently charged for.
To whoever is reading this review and replying to it - please just fix it. Don't give me yet another number to call.
