LONG HAIR GIRLIES BEWARE.
* I do not often (or like to) write negative reviews. I did try to process the experience and sleep on it; I am still somewhere in between livid and devastated. The only reason this is not one of those 'I only put 1 star because Google makes me but if I could I would give no stars' reviews was because Haley was kind enough to try to fix what she could when I had quietly come back later that evening. Since I did pay for the service and did not receive a refund, I feel justified in writing the review.
Some further background: I have been trying to grow my hair out for 6 years. My hair grows insanely slow. Even with growth supplements I maybe get 2 inches of growth in a year. When I walked in, my hair reached just below my butt. It now sits at the mid of my back.
The experience: I was a walk-in. I'm a working mom of two under/at two with an unpredictable schedule. This was also the first time since moving to the area (2 years ago) that I had time for a haircut. I had heard good things about Changes, which is why I ultimately picked Changes. I conveniently never caught the name of the stylist who chopped off my hair. But she has short, ginger hair. In hindsight I should have taken the sign and just walked right back out when she sat me down and was ready to take scissors to my hair without so much as having a conversation with me about what I wanted. I spoke up and explicitly told her that I was only there for a trim, I wanted to keep my length, at most I was willing to cut 3 inches off as that would finally take off the hair I had bleached to medium brown 6 years ago (my natural hair color is black). I also stated that my hair texture does not do well cut straight/flat. I needed my hair shaped/tapered to a U-shape or V-shape, whichever was simpler. And long layers. Not only did she chop off SEVEN inches (I measured when I got home) she essentially straight cut it. You could tell there was an attempt to do the shaping I had asked for, but she apparently did not have the skill set to do so. Stylists need to be honest with not only themselves but their client on what they can and can not do. The only reason I believe it is not shorter is because it would have been blatantly obvious she had cut much more than I had asked for if she had gone any shorter.
I tried really hard not to be upset when I stood from the chair and finally saw the full extent of the damage. I was in shock at the length when I had paid (and even tipped). When I left, I was hoping she at least got the shape right after cutting the length of my hair in half. As stated above, she did not. She had told me to be honest if I didn't like it so she could fix it. Unless she could magically regrow what took years to grow, she's insane if she thinks I would let her touch my hair more to 'fix' it.
I know it's hair. I know it will grow back. But that was YEARS of growth. And it very well may take YEARS to get my hair back. I'm absolutely devastated.
Until my hair has grown back to length that it was, however many months/years it will take to do so, I am unwilling to even begin to retract this review. At this point, I am inclined to tell everyone I know (and don't know), to not go to Changes.

The stylist that cut my hair was great. My hair was down to my butt. I didn't know what I wanted to do. All I knew was that something had to be done with it. It was really getting to be too much to deal with. It was everywhere. My hubby likes longer hair, so he didn't want more than 4 to 6 inches taken off. I like it shorter. He went outside to grab a smoke, and while he did so, I told my stylist how I felt. We ended up taking a foot off. Not too much, not too little, but just right. Lol. It now sits where my bra goes across my back. It feels so much healthier. I had put Splat hair dye in my hair, and it is almost gone now. She explained to me how that stuff ruins the parts of your hair that it's no longer on. Not to mention, my wash. Gosh, she had magic hands. It was the best feeling ever. A woman rarely gets that. But I think I'm going to make that place my regular. The staff are all nice and make you feel welcome. I have no complaints. She done a wonderful job with me, and I have zero complaints.

I came down there yesterday to get my hair highlighted but Via was so rough and the highlights weren’t very good so I’m not going to be going back to her

Leandra is the most amazing hair stylist I have ever had! She completely transformed my super long hair from dark brown to a very nice blonde color! It was exactly what I asked for and at a very affordable and reasonable price. I felt very welcomed by her and she is very sweet to remind people of their appointments with her in advance so that everyone is happy. I will be going back to her for sure! She is a wonderful and genuine person who really gives her all into what you ask for!

Honor a confirmed appointment and not disrespect the time and drive a client makes to respect their appointment with you. Bad business to ask a client who has arrived on time (early a few minutes), with a previously confirmed appointment to wait an entire hour on someone else you worked in at their convenience and my inconvenience. Beyond rude and completely unprofessional. I wish you well, Leandra. You need to learn to respect others time and money when they respect yours.

I haven't been to a salon in ages! I'm so glad I went today! Dwayne listened to me and done exactly what I asked for! My hair looks healthier than ever!! Thankfully I decided to go there! Thank you Dwayne at Changes Salon, I'm loving my hair!!
