My son received the support of a village. The staff were amazing and support for the whole family was constant and his therapist was always available. I was totally against residential until Barry Robinson and now I wish that I had sent him earlier. His, and our lives, have been forever changed and I am excited for his future.

Take the time to really find out about this program. If you embrace the program and do the time with your child it will be a success. There will be highs and lows as your child progresses through. Do not give up do the work as a family and that relationship with the staff counselor is critical. I highly recommend BRC.

November 2023 by Statistically Supported Analysis
While this isn't the worst facility, they accept teens committed against their will which changes the whole dynamic. Forced commitment has a lot of evidence against it. It teaches people to hide their feelings while desperately trying to get out. It shows them that their doctors/parents aren't trustworthy. Also, the way they treated me was horrifically traumatic and gave me lifelong issues.

Truly terrible people...the horror stories I've heard from patients are appalling. Guess they really do hand out licenses to everyone.

Stay was awful, dont respect people with bdd and social anxiety. When i left they lost my stuff and i forgot my hair dryer. They sent me someone elses and now they are trying to send my personal one back but its been awhile. I dont think im getting it back. I rated two bc the only good thing was the people i met and some of the staff.

I was there as a child in the 90s; the best years of my teenage life.

I was a resident years back and I really benefited from being there.I admit everything doesnt work for everyone , but my time there , I did learn alot and grow in many areas. I would recommend this facility. But also remember change only works when we are willing to work through the process of what we are dealing with. Nothing works unless you are willing to work with it.

Don’t know if this institution is still governed by Eugenics ideology. Though it certainly was when I went there as a child in the early 90s. I’m still paying the price heavily today for the inhumane and unethical pursuit of perfection.

The only thing I even relatively enjoyed here was my therapist and the outings. Ms laquadia the staff used traumas against people and half the time staff was rude.

This place was hell. The staff were all except one were rude and inconsiderate. And yeah all the outings seem fun they never do them. The therapist Mr. Ryan thought that all my problems were only behavior and talked about family therapy even in my individual therapy. He also mistaken me for another resident which made me stay on close watch for longer and get a room search that was not needed. There was only 1 staff that actually cared and she couldn't even take working there. The staff does not pay attention and lets things that should not happen, happen. I wanted to die even more and self harmed even more.

I love working at The Barry Robinson Center. The CEO is awesome! You can not find a better leader. He is honest, fair, caring, and leads by example. His leadership is like non that I have seen in a long time. Great example for staff and residents. It was my pleasure working for him, the staff, and residents. BEST PLACE EVER!!!

This place was awesome back in the day Wanda Wromm was my therapist and got me there so much. Sure I AWOL a few times and got into trouble but it was cool when I gained staff trust i had a running club and Robert the coordinator took us to the beach to run that was fun but that was about 30 or so years ago.

like someone else here said.. f*** this place. i was admitted back in 2009 and stayed until 2011. if you ran, teachers and "aDvOcAtEs" would legit tackle you, grown adults tackling 9 yro kids. i had a assistant teacher shove me into a white board over something petty, my "therapist" was a fuckin creep and gave me pedophile vibes, my "advocate" would "try" and put me down mentally and emotionally, the staff were mainly awful and this place was just a s*** show. never put your kid here unless you want them to come out more f***** up than before. bc this place f***** me up more than helped. oh, and let's not forget about the staff abusing you if you didn't listen. oh and a few kids got raped in there as well but it never got surfaced bc the staff tried to quickly cover it up..
