Now a Wyndham property, the historic hotel still has its charm but our room had a few minor issues, but first the pluses. If you’re there to visit Natural Bridge, it doesn’t get more convenient. There’s a restaurant and tavern for food options and walkway under the road to get to the park entrance right from the hotel parking lot. Having two teenage boys, we were happy they had a room with two queen-sized beds and the piece was reasonable. Just to the right of the main lobby is a room with some antiques and a history of the hotel.
Our issues with room are minor. The mini fridge leaked and wasn’t cold and the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling in some places.

Loved the hotel, room was clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing. They called us while we were having lunch to let us know our dog was barking. They told us to take our time and enjoy our lunch, there was no need to rush back. The cleaning staff even checked on him to make sure he was okay. Could not have asked for better service. The tavern was also amazing, nice to have beer on tap in our hotel. We even stayed there again on our way home after a two week vacation. Highly recommend!

I don’t understand any of the bad reviews on here at all. This place is such an absolute diamond in the rough. People just want to be mean I think. We stopped here on a whim and fell in love on our road trip, so we made a point to go back on the way home. First of all, they have an excellent restaurant in the hotel that has food made with love from Jess, who we got the pleasure to meet and she’s an absolute star. The food is southern comfort and delicious, I mean real crispy hand breaded fish and chicken and a mean steak if you want to bump it up. THE BEST spinach and artichoke dip I’ve EVER had and two of the best martinis I’ve tasted in my life. They have a VERY well stocked bar. THE ROOMS ARE OLDER- Duhhhh this is a historic place and they price it more than fairly for any small shortcomings you deem. It’s called PERSONALITY people! If you can’t be happy here you can’t be happy anywhere and should reconsider what you are doing with your life. We only wish we lived closer because we would def be spending way more time here!
Nearby activities: The natural bridge is one of the most beautiful natural wonders you will ever see, it’s breathtaking.
Food & drinks: Excellent
Noteworthy details: Very pet friendly

Owners are in the hotel but us customers don't have TVs in rooms that work. We have had the front desk girl in and out of our room for over an hour.
Needs lots of cleaning. A deep clean to say the least.
Very disappointed in this place. So much potential but don't waste your time.
Side note, Ashley at the front is a gem and should be promoted. Owners don't know how lucky they are to have her.

Rooms: We loved the two queen bed suite even though it does not have a balcony. Very happy with our room and the hotel amenities. Would definitely stay again.

Very historic, possibly haunted hotel nestled in the beautiful Natural Bridge area. My friends and I did a section of the Appalachian Trail recently and stayed here afterward. I’m usually not a fan of anything Wyndham but the Queen Suites were huge! Tobias took great care of us and we’d come back just to see him again! :)

This is a neat historical lodge with a good view and is reasonably clean. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. We ate in the dining room and the service was great, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. BUT, unfortunately, there was a party going in the banquet room and they were playing unreasonably loud music from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It was ridiculously loud. In our room, the floor trembled, the vents vibrated, items on the counter danced, and needless to say, there was no relaxing and definitely no sleeping while the party was happening.

We enjoyed our time here! The hotel staff were great to work with and were very helpful in hosting our event / meeting on premises in the ballroom. Beautiful scenery and lots of local things to do.

The hotel staff was very helpful. They were busy but did their best to accommodate us when we had a question.
Nearby activities: You can visit the Natural Bridge. There is a waterfall you can see as well.
Walkability: The walk was fairly easy. The surroundings were beautiful. The weather was just right for walking.

We went online and purchased a room with 2 queen size beds, but they were full size.
If you had an extended stay, you had to go to the front desk for towels, no service or trash removal.
The internet didn't work our entire stay. It was advertised as free internet for guests on the website.
Hole in the wall behind the headboard with wires and wire nut connectors visible.

This place was disappointing. The walls had holes, no wifi service as advertised. Beds were not comfortable and the mattress was so thin the sheets wouldn't stay on. Definitely will not go there again.

This place is not what I expected, the room had a bad smell. People like me who can't sleep with such clear, transparent curtains had a terrible night.
