The Northern Neck community is extremely fortunate to have numerous YMCA locations throughout our area offering everything from clean, fully equipped workout areas, indoor basketball/pickleball courts, spinning and swimming. Our community is better because of the YMCA!

This Y has everything but a track, and is well run, with everything that you could ask for in a workout facility. It is also very clean, with a friendly staff, who are helpful and knowledgeable. Kudos and 5 stars!

Swim lessons were great for my two year old. Her instructor, Kendall was so kind and patient. Over the two weeks of lessons, I got to watch her little confidence grow and to see how excited she was to go swim each day with Kendall.

The Men's locker room and showers are filthy. There is CARPETING in the men's locker room that is ten or more years old, and is not vacuumed ever, as far as I can see. The lockers are VERY RUSTED INSIDE EACH ONE ! So be prepared to have your clothes stained with rust and dirt when you use the Men's Lockers. I, and many others are very upset about the rarely cleaned showers, too. Flies are breeding in the shower drains, and are flying around in that area. 'Disgusting. Many friends and I have complained, with ZERO RESPONSE ! All my friends have switched to the nearby "Body Fit", in White Stone.

my only negtive is the pool water is too cold. 81 degrees. I thooght the average water temp at Y's was 86 degrees.

The local community built this Y but has lost control of it to corporate offices 50-60 miles away where decisions are made without regard to members preferences. Weight room designed for men, group cycling neglected (shares a space with miscellaneous equipment, ancient bikes no two calibrated alike, not enough for demand, terrible sound system, no mic for instructor), lap pool temp set too high for laps and team workouts (why not boil the high school and masters teams!). Matrix management from afar means that athletic programs are directed by separate corporate functionaries who have never visited the Kilmarnock facility and don’t coordinate with each other or, as I have said, the local membership. On the upside, staff is friendly, facility is clean and reception area helpful.

The staff is great. The facility is great. Weights, Pool & gymnasium. My main reason for joining the YMCA is to spend time in the sauna and steam room for muscle relief and relaxation. It really helps the body. Unfortunately, the steam room is too filthy to enter and the sauna is always broken. The sauna is filthy as well to be honest. I hate to leave a bad review but lack of cleanliness for 2 years has gone too far. I've made multiple requests along side many other members and nothing happens. :/ sorry guys. I'm def not alone on this matter.
