DO NOT HIRE!!! If I could rate this company below "one star" I would (negative 5 stars). These people are criminals and are perhaps, the least professional operation I have ever dealt with. To begin with... They arrived 3 hours late the day of our anticipated move, resulting in the need for me to assist in loading and an additional day of moving (returned the following day to finish). In the process of loading and transporting, they succeeded in destroying and damaging many of our possessions (I witnessed an employee rolling an antique table of ours on edge, on a concrete floor, so they wouldn't have to lift it... I swear). Moving out of our residence (a lovely historic home) they managed to deep gouge the hardwood floors in several places, while simultaneously damaging both sides of a door jam. This occurred, while watching the “professionals†attempt to move a couch through a doorway. They clearly didn't know the "couch trick" and tried slamming a full sofa through the doorway in an upright position. I came across this action in process and confronted the crew leader about it. He fed me some line about “it's no big deal" and didn't apologize or own up to the damages at all (I spent the entire evening, after 12 hours of moving and packing, repairing floors as a result... awesome). In spite of this nonsense we still bought them lunch (4-5 people), the initial day of the move. We set them up on the lawn with tables and chairs and let them eat their lunches in peace. After they had finished, I could not help but notice the piles of discarded, unwanted items strewn across the lawn (no joke, they tossed piles of lettuce, tomatoes onions and napkins on the lawn; 3 feet from my front door, and 2 feet from a garbage can!) This company seems to rely on temp labor to load (see antique table) as well as unload. The guy they wrangled up to help with the offload left after 15 minutes; my wife and I had to help unload the truck as a result. Back to the big picture... After everything was on the truck and locked up, day 2 of loading, the crew leader pulls out a form and claims to have "underestimated" the anticipated cost and promptly announced that we would have to pay an additional 30% (!!!) in order for them to deliver as initially agreed upon. They further stated that payment for additional expenses would need to be paid in CASH (completely sketchy) and, and they announced refusal to unload our possessions without said payment in hand (See: Extortion). We had to sign the presented form on the spot, to ensure that they would commit to delivering our possessions. Seriously, this is extortion. Any attempts to contact the company, in order to discuss matters was met with not one single returned call (this went on for months). Eventually and reluctantly, I was put in touch with a third party agency, which the company uses to resolve disputes. This particular settlement company only communicated via US Mail (PO Box address) and after several back and forth scenarios (photo documentations, forms, etc.), they eventually offered us less than $100 as "are we good" money (words do not explain how insulting this was). Shortly thereafter, I contacted a lawyer to see if we could recoup some of the unannounced expenses incurred (additional fees and damages). Turns out... they don't have any assets! (rented equipment, storage space, temp staff, etc.) Effectively, this prevents them from having anything to lose and protects them legally. In summary... Their game is to scam money out of people through a combination of dishonest tactics and fear (we have all your stuff... now pay up!). This is nothing short of a criminal operation and an utter disgrace to all that is decent. This company is unprofessional, unresponsive, abusive and unethical. They truly ought to be ashamed of themselves; posing as a reputable business, while taking advantage of people. I hope these low life swindlers rot in hell... the scumbags that they are, deserve nothing less.

I am writing this review not to shame the company, but to try and save someone, at least one person, from the absolute misery we experienced. It was one of the worst experiences of our life.
1. There was a quote given of $3999. Once our whole life was packed into their truck, the price doubled to $8,000. Let me repeat that: DOUBLED to $8,000! Extra charges were not explained until after everything was packed in the truck: bulky item charges, packing charges (even though we were completely packed), $200 in tape charges, and so on.
2. When I called or emailed asking for a status on our delivery there was NO answer-ZERO! I left kind voicemails and worrisome emails, but it was like they weren't even receiving them. No one responded until my husband somehow managed to get ahold of the owner, who unfortunately was very rude. It was a full 7 days until our things were delivered. I specifically asked for updates as I told them, we have three children, and our son is autistic. Change, moving, all of that is very hard on him...this still had the same impact on the company...NO RESPONSE.
3. When the men did arrive at our new home, they were 2 hours late, because THEY OVERSLEPT, those were their exact words.
4. The unpacking: the broke the baby's crib, the broke a stool, and messed up my son's toddler bed. They did not put everything back together as they were supposed to. Speaking of the broken crib, when I asked why they didn't put it back together, they said, " they're not allowed." The unpacking took 4-6 hours...You have to pay the remainder balance of your moving bill at delivery. Ok, I understand, but it must be in cash or money order. We were told specifically NOT a money order but a cashier's check or cash. Their boss informed the movers to stop moving and unpacking our things until we were able to get approx $2500 in cash on a Saturday. Somehow, my husband pulled it off, and they finished unpacking. To add to this moment, the owner was on the phone with my husband arguing with him while holding our things in the truck. The final note of the unpack: THEY NEVER DELIVERED MY JEWELRY. It was the ONE container that did not get delivered. I have yet to hear from the company regarding the whereabouts of my jewelry. It is truly not about the money, I just want the container, there are family items in there that can never be replaced. We asked our attorney how to proceed, and we are currently filing a police report.
I am not naive, I didn't expect moving to be the greatest process. I assumed there would be timing issues or cost issues, but this company blew us away. This has been the most disappointing experience, and I hope this review can save at least one person the agony we have experienced. For your sake, please do not use this company.

Mariah Alhawarin (comment below) is a rep for the company... That should tell you enough about their dealing. I tried to use them 3 years ago. They would not send a rep to calculate my square footage, and gave me an estimate. They collected a deposit that was refundable prior to the pick up. Within the allowable time frame, I cancelled due to the all bad information I was finding online about them. This included fake insurance information that they had provided to me. They refused to ever refund my deposit. VERY SHADY BUSINESS. I would not recommend. Additionally, after my experience I searched the names of people who had actually left positive online reviews, and found nothing but fake facebook profiles, and accounts that were linked to representatives of the company. I am moving again, and saw their name come up on a search list, and decided to see if anything had changed. First positive review I saw was from Mariah Alhawarin. Sure enough, the name was linked to the company...

We hired Giant Xpress moving company to move our furniture from Arlington, VA to Tampa, FL. 1. Charged us an extra $800 for "extra packing" on specific items. When the furniture arrived in Tampa, nothing had any packing on it! Beautiful expensive furniture completely destroyed. 2. When furniture arrived there was severe damage because multiple furniture items were not properly wrapped and covered as requested. A. Chipped wood and severe scratch damages to coffee table. B. Severe scratches and water damage to dining room table. C. Dining chairs (4) were stacked when they came off the truck when they were supposed to be packed causing warping and scratches. D. Bedroom dresser, bed and chairs were not full wrapped and covered causing damage and severe scratches to the pieces. E. One box was lost in the move. Contents included wedding dress and other clothing items. F. One box had water damage with luckily no known damages to the contents. G. Destroyed (beyond repair) TV stand (broken and severe scratches) Overall this furniture is beyond repair and the damage for replacement is estimated at $7788. The final moving charges were about $1500 more than the initial estimate that was THOROUGHLY discussed with the service person. They charged us more to pack our queen bed because it is a "larger than normal queen bed". How is that possible? Also, the damage to the furniture is unacceptable because it came off the truck not properly wrapped or stored as requested (was even charged extra). The crew who delivered the furniture (contracted out from Giant Xpress) stated that it was the worst initial packing job they had seen in their combined 20+ years experience. Zero stars if it is possible on google. Do not use this company. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be interested to see how this company goes about resolving our damages. Charges for services not provided and extremely poor service.

My move to North Carolina was awesome. Great ladies in office, great crews on site, all around great experience! Price was on point and delivery only took 2 days! Wish I would've found this company for my previous move. I'll be hiring GiantXpress at every move I have from here on out!

Two years later, and still a five star review. We had Giant xpress movers help us pack this time, and they were fantastic. Very fast, careful, and thorough. They shaved our packing time to a fraction, worth every penny. The day of the move, they were on time, efficient, and careful. Team was polite and worked hard. It was raining, and the team did a great job protecting our stuff so it didn't get wet. Cannot recommend this company more, they made our move so much less stressful.
