If you go here to shop expect to be approached multiple times by salespeople for cell phone plans, bj credit card and home improvements. It's like walking around a used car lot. This is a new practice that needs to end. If this continues they will absolutely lose customers. It's very annoying.

Can management please clean up your filthy parking lot? I almost tripped on the sidewalk with all the trash. Come on, take pride in your entire property…

I have been paying for a membership for years with that being said I should not have to leave without something they have in stock. I visited this location on Sunday for the purpose of purchasing vinegar. There was no stock in the bin, however, there was an entire pallet on the top shelf. The manager said they did not have the means to get it down. If I am going to pay a membership fee to shop then I an expect that they accomodate. This is poor customer service on the company as the manager on duty she should be certified to drive a fork lift.

I just renewed my membership because the lunch meat was at a good deal. Now they raised the price of the lunch beat same as giant plus their gas stations out of business for 60 days. Not sure where no one will go.

It's got a good variety of food items, more than Costco, at least in my opinion. I always compare it to Costco because Costco is my go-to place. The lighting, I don't like it, that's just me, again, compared to Costco.
Food-wise: I end up buying more food items here than I do in Costco. Costco's price for food items is better, but BJ's has more options. When the same food item is on sale/has a coupon in BJ's it can be the same price or a dollar or two cheaper than at Costco.
Electronics, hardware, furniture, clothes, books, etc - anything that isn't food: Costco is superior BY FAR in terms of quality, selection, and most importantly, price. Example: The 6-foot foldable plastic table at Costco is $59.99. The same one in BJ's is $79.99.
Gasoline: I don't fill up here, but I went to both Costco and BJ's one after the other and noticed that BJ's gas, at the time of writing, was 20 cents cheaper at $3.19 vs $3.39 for Costco and Sam's.

Went here to pick up some water bottles around 8 or 9 pm last night. When I went to check out in self checkout the associates at the counter, very loudly, could not stop saying rude things about how I had 'too much water' and that they didn't know what my problem was. I only had 4 packs and I didn't know that getting my family drinking water was an absolute horror to the associates.

This BJs is horrible, the team members and management are rude, condescending, and just flat out disrespectful. I would strongly advise anyone to pick another location or shop at a different store.

Much better than costco. I love BJs and I cancel my costco membership for Bjs.

If you do a pick-up order, they charge you $50 over your actual total. When asked, I was told it gets returned after a couple days. Not cool.

I waited in line at the deli for 20 minutes for my turn. There was only one person working.I called the member services at the front of the store and asked if they would get one more person to work deli and told them the situation. The gentleman who answered told me that they had no one else available and sorry. It is a foolish practice for a warehouse where one has to pay for membership, to not have those services available to their members. In addition, this poor employee was servicing members nonstop.I will not be renewing my membership when it comes up. This is totally unacceptable!

We usually shop at Mechanicsville location and they are BEYOND nice. Came in yesterday to grocery shop clipped coupons on the way into store. Had nothing show up on the app that my membership had expired. Got to the store did a massive haul for groceries. Waited in a LONG line pulled up my card to scan before groceries were scanned any message popped up that my membership had expired. I was told I could renew it at the register for $110 or pay an additional 20% on top of listed prices. Explained to the lady that I had a piece of paper at home that said it was only $20 to renew she let me know I Had to go to customer service and speak with them. Went to customer service representative that assisted me was extremely rude. Did not apologize for the inconvenience of me sitting in line with my toddler and husband for a very lengthy time (as well as unloading groceries on belt and then reloading them back in my cart) only to be told I could not buy our groceries without a membership renewal. I asked the lady what my options were. She said I could renew for $110. I let her know that I had a brochure at home and she told me I had to physically bring it in to get that price. I let her know we live over 45 minutes away and we come once a month for a grocery hall. She let me know that I had to bring it in. No apology. No caring whatsoever. If you work in customer service you should at least try and put yourself in the customers shoes. I was very disappointed with this experience my toddler was also throwing a fit and crying at this point because we had been there for so long. Off to the side as I was talking with my husband I let him know that she was not very nice and she did not care or apologize for the inconvenience (she heard me say this). When I walked back up to the counter after discussing it with my husband. She let me know “I didn’t let her speak”. We renewed for the lower plan and we will not be renewing after this year. I didn’t even want to do it just then because lack of customer service but we had a full cart of groceries and had been there for quite some time. Mind you will spend about $667 roughly a month at BJ’s (yesterday’s total). Let her know I want her to have a nice day, and she did not say anything remotely kind or thanking me gore my renewal. When I got home and checked out the app, she also didn’t update the primary member, address, and phone number on the account causing me to have to login to change it all. Definitely not shopping at Fredericksburg ever again. This was the last straw. I will drive to 45 minutes in the other direction to Mechanicsville. At least I know they were specked their customers, and treat them with kindness.

Great alternative to the crowds you have at Costco some prices are lower, some higher, but same concept.
