My first time taking my senior dog here and they did such an amazing job. They listened to what I wanted and were patient with my dog who usually has a hard time with groomers. Overall wonderful team and his cut was gorgeous ?

Finally we have Lisa back in the dog grooming business that knows how to truly groom a dog. We have two golden doodles that are 60 pounds and she does an absolutely amazing job making them look like true golden doodles. She is the best around.!!!!

The staff is very patient when trimming my girl's nails every 6-8 weeks. She's very dramatic and isn't a fan of the process but I appreciate how kind and capable the technicians are!

I can't say enough good things about Berkeley Square! My dog, Annie, absolutely loves going there, which says a lot considering how nervous she used to be about grooming. The staff is incredibly gentle and patient with her, always making sure she's comfortable. Annie always comes out looking fantastic, with a beautifully groomed coat and a wagging tail. The attention to detail and the genuine care they show for her well-being is truly outstanding. If you're looking for a groomer who treats your pet like their own, this is the place to go!

I took my very shy four month old Biewer Terrier puppy here for their puppy grooming training package. It was SUCH a great experience for his first ever time in a grooming salon. They had calming music playing and were very in tune with my puppy’s body language, not trying to rush greetings or cross his boundaries. Our first session was all about getting little Ollie used to the sounds and smells of the grooming environment, while trying to associate the place with good and fun things. This is an excellent package that this salon provides, as they introduce your puppy slowly over the course of four visits to the grooming experience. I’m so glad I decided to bring my little Oliver here and look forward to coming in the future!

Barkley Square has always taken amazing care of my dogs, and I know they are in good hands with each visit. I’ve had difficult experiences with groomers in the past, but Barkley Square has given me comfort in knowing that my dogs are safe and the confidence in knowing that my dogs feel and look their best during and after each visit.

For anyone looking for a place to take care of a dog who has been traumatized by a groomer or looking to prevent a dog from becoming just that, I can say through experience that Barkley Square is the place for you and your fur baby :)

Barkley Square has been a godsend for our rescue doodle who had a history of abuse and very little grooming. The entire team at Barkley (all the way down from the owner to the greeters, bathers, and groomers) has shown great love, care, acceptance, and patience in working to decrease our dog's anxiety all while providing a top notch clean and cut each time.
They listen to our concerns and have worked with us by providing tips and ideas to continue reinforcing a positive grooming experience. The work of their dedicated groomers, coupled with our own regular work and reinforcement at home, has totally changed his/our experience around grooming. We highly recommend their services and love what they stand for!

I’ve been taking my pup to Barkley Square for about 6 years and am always impressed! My pup is a senior dog that’s very anxious (and so am I). I always feel great about leaving her at Barkley Square and know she’s in the best hands.
I recently had an appointment with Hayley and she was great! I’m very pleased with her cut and you can tell Sophie knows she looks great!

Please tell me if I expected too much:
I made an appt to take our 6 month old medium goldendoodle in for a meet and greet. Upon arriving, I saw they had just texted me with a note requesting a later appt, stating, "I am looking at the schedule and I see there are 3 other pups coming in at the same time". I proceeded to wait outside for 1 hour with her on a leash after which they did a very brief meet/greet visit with her. I then made an appt for her first haircut. I was told to expect a 2 hr wait. After 1.5 hours went by, the staff sent me a text stating things were going slower than they expected and they had washed and blow-dried her coat (she just had a full bath only 3 days prior) and they didn't want to cut her hair as they thought she was too nervous. They stated they would trim her face (her eyes were nearly covered by her hair growth), feet and fanny. I waited in their lobby approx. 15 minutes and the person at the front desk indicated that I could go ahead and pay the $109 bill for their service. I paused in my mind as I never asked for, nor wanted, her to be washed/blow-dried; however, I held my comment back in order to be decent to the person and simply leave. I was dumb enough to tell the front desk person that I would add a tip for the person trimming her eyes, etc.
The Owner came into the lobby as my dog came out and I explained that I really felt bad for my dog without the cut because of the effects of heat on her. She offered to schedule another visit and I responded, "you can call me with upcoming availability, you have my contact info and know how to reach me". Nobody from Barkley ever subsequently called me.
Later that afternoon, I texted the Barkley text number and left a note asking for the Owner to call me. The next morning, the Owner responded to my text with a note indicating she would call me that morning. That note was 2 days ago and nobody from Barkley has called me.
My biggest concern is that my hairy, 6 month old puppy is sweating it out every day as I'm scrambling to get a new appt for her at a reputable place. I'm also feeling that I was dumb to pay $129 for a wash/blow-dry/"no-cut". On top of that, I'm self-employed and the time I wasted on the meet/greet delay along with the time wasted during the bath/blow-dry that I never wanted literally cost me $875 that I would have earned otherwise. With that said, from my perspective, the unrequested bath/blow-dry actually cost me $1,004! So please tell me, am I expecting too much? Would it be fair for me to expect them to pay a bill from me for compensation of my lost revenue?
A couple of add'l comments: the lobby is very cramped and too small for any more than 1 dog/owner to be in it at once...The grooming room appeared to have multiple tables near each other with multiple dogs in the room. The noise coming out of that room was quite loud with blowdryers and cutting equipment going - call me naive, but it doesn't appear to present any hope of a zen condition that might prompt a dog to chill out for their cut? There were a number of staff in that grooming room moving about and whenever the door opened to my sight from the lobby couch, a staff member would literally scramble to close the door with abit of a wild-eyed appearance on their face...Call me naive, but that didn't foster a zen feeling in my mind for what is happening in there. Look, I get it, each dog is different and some are easier and some harder than others to not be scared for a cut ... and the staff has to always exude abit of a Jedi/Dog-Whisperer vibe in order to bond with each pet passing through... but this is the business they are in and they can't handle a shaking sweetheart of a goldendoodle for a cut? Perhaps the loud blow-dry session scared her as well as the staff.
I've never subscribed to the notion, "the customer is always right", but I do think when the facts are in plain sight, it is best/proper to humbly ac

They’re the best groomers in town!
I highly recommended, it took me a long time to finally find someone who understands what I want in my dog and treats him well at the same time. They love animals and they will leave your dog like a teddy bear. You won’t regret choosing them, specially GEORGE!

Our dog was going to a big commercial place for his bath, nail trimming, etc. My wife heard of dog mistreated. I found Barkley by going to our CPA, and I decided to use them. Yesterday, was the first time we went to Barkley , they offered a very outstanding and professional personalized service, no rushing, relaxing music for pets and humans. I highly recommend their service and of course will we use only Barkley.
