This Safeway store is actually the closest grocery store near where I live but I don’t go that often unless if I need some special ingredient for my recipe such as puff pastries that I can’t find at an Aldi or Lidl near me. It is a bit pricey for me but the customer service is very helpful and friendly.

This Safeway is very well run, clean, and with friendly service that has worked there for many years. In my experience, the Safeway brands are healthier and cheaper than most brands. Recently though their fresh oranges have been a bit of a disappointment. They can be purchased for $8.99 for a 8lb bag, but what you get are dry or moldy or both if the oranges are large. I would encourage Safeway to get a better orange vendor for the signature brand. That one is not up to par.

You can find good deal at Safeway even when you use your app to clip coupon. I will shop here before I go home and I live in DC

Scheduled for a vaccine at 3 pm. Arrived at 255. At 320 I asked how much longer it would be and I was told 10-15 minutes. I left. Why make an appointment? Don't bother, go somewhere else for vaccines.

I've been coming to this Safeway store for over 20 years, and was a loyal customer up to this year. During 2023, this went from being a fairly well-stocked, well-staffed, well-maintained store to a place where there's rarely a cashier checkout available, staples are frequently out of stock, meat prices are consistently higher than other stores in the area, the front doors are always broken, and the staff, while friendly enough, tends to respond with shrug when you have an issue.Yesterday, however, the store hit a new low. My husband and I came in to pick up a few items. I was wearing a jacket since this store is always cold, but yesterday it was absolutely freezing. I was so cold that I was shivering. I spoke to an employee about it, and his response was a cheerful "yeah, it's pretty cold!" No explanation, no apology.While I shopped, my husband stopped to price bulk beef chuck roast so we could grind our own hamburger at home. The meat counter employee brought out a 25-pound roast, which was exactly what my husband wanted, but to his surprise, the uncut roast was priced exactly the same as the ground chuck in the case. An upcharge for meat that's been cut and processed is standard in the supermarket industry - after all, it takes time and employee hours to grind and package meat - so pricing the uncut roast the same as ground chuck makes no sense. Once again, the employee had no explanation.I understand that the Pan Am Shopping Center, where this Safeway is located, is slated for redevelopment, so maybe that's affecting the way this store is being stocked, maintained and managed. But that possible redevelopment is a long way off. Meanwhile, with the abundance of other grocery stores within a five-mile radius, this Safeway's substandard performance isn't giving me any reason to maintain my loyalty.

Just this location always falls flat with the registers and customer service. The conveyor belts don't work, and usually the only cashier they have working hides in the 15 items or less line.

I can't believe my eyes! The bananas look so ripe and good but I got home to find what you see here. OMG awful! Is there anything we can buy safely anymore?!

Prices are usually higher than most other grocery stores in the area for the same goods. The place has a very old feel to it and always feels a little dirty. The sushi is not fresh and has made me sick before. Additionally it is a must to have a phone number for their rewards or the prices are just silly (they are so much more expensive than other stores). Overall I would not recommend going here is you have time (there is a nice giant near by) but in a pinch they are not the end of the world.

I have been going here for a while now. So I will just bullet point the issues.Always broken doors when entering or exiting.Only ever 0-1 cashiers on duty. Screw self check out.Manager special pricing is always wrong at the register, and I have to get a refund every time. $3-5 difference every time.Seems like they have delivery issues. Some days, the shelves are bare. I always go the same day, so it doesn't make sense that sometimes shelves are full and other times empty.Managers seem to have little to no customer service abilities. Or seem to care at all.At one point, they must have had a corporate visit because for a week, everything was filled and fronted. The store looked amazing. The next week back to trash.I know prices and deals are corporate controlled, but the deals and discounts never seem like they are that good.I actually can't think of any pros at the moment. I only go here for convenience.

Dropping rating back to two stars. Went there the other afternoon. Only one cashier. Tried the self check-out. Unsurprisingly, a gift card requires "assistance" that was "on the way" for six minutes. As I walked out, someone appeared. Avoid this store. The ones at Willard Way and on Pickett Road are much better, if less fancy.

We love our local Safeway at Pan Am Plaza! Is organized very well, helpful staff, great bakery and Deli Department. Wonderful choice of wines from all over the world and a good choice of beers from all of the world as well. We've been able to save money when they have special deals, special prices for customers that belong to their savings Club. One thing I have to mention. They have the best jalapeno cheddar cheese Bagels in the world. Easily my favorite. But again, everything is good in the bakery. Croissants as well. We will certainly continue to shop here for special deals on name brands but also they have a very good selection on their own labeled Foods which are very good.
