I went to the branch on Western Branch Blvd for the 1st time and they cashed my work check with there name on it for a $5 fee...The teller was polite and even asked me how I wanted my money by denominations.. Wish they were open on Saturdays though..! Great experience ?

Finding this location was a pleasant surprise. I located it using Yelp, of course!This location is easy to get in and out of without a lot of effort. It is centrally located on a major Boulevard surrounded by other great eateries and shopping areas.The customer service in the drive-thru line was excellent. As soon as it was my turn, I was greeted by a cheerful voice welcoming to Southern Bank. Very nice lady with a great smile. She was fast, accurate, efficient, and helpful (of course, I had questions).I recommend this location for your banking needs.They care about their customer's needs.I ended up going inside to be nosey and see if they were as nice in the lobby area. They were - Smiles!Great job, Southern Bank! Although I am more likely to use your drive-thru in the future. It is great to know that this location offers wonderful service inside too.

Always have an excellent experience with the Chesapeake Southern Bank's staff. They're very helpful and knowledgeable about services they offer. I love Southern Bank, they need more locations in our area.

Worst bank EVER. I would NOT recommend them to a dog!!! Horrible!!! nothing about this bank is convenient. Theres only one location in Norfolk no other place, not Hampton, Newport News, Richmond no where next place is NC. If they tell you, you have overdraft protection, its lies. If you use online mobile deposits, expect some type of issue, except them to hold your money. HORRIBLE BANK
