We took an artisan pizza cooking class with Julia, and it was an amazing experience! Julia was a phenomenal teacher, walking us through each step with clear instructions and providing helpful tips along the way. I have very limited cooking experience, but Julia made the process approachable and fun. Doug, who assisted throughout the class, ensured everyone was well taken care of.

My wife and I took the steak cooking class with a couple of family memebers as a birthday gift for me. We had an awesome time learning from Julia and Chef Jaylin. We also met Lucy and Jame. All of the staff were kind and knowledgeable. The class itself was great. We learned a lot and had a good time doing it.

My girls and I went to Sur La Table for their dinner Date Night: Indulgent Filet Feast on August 24. This was my first cooking class post pandemic and Jaelynn was our culinary instructor. She was so much fun! She showed us techniques that are realistic to cut down on prep time and the recipe wasn't intimidating.
We had fun, we shopped, we feasted, and she even took a picture with us. Thank you Jaelynn and Sur La Table for adding to such a great night.

We just moved to Old Town and checked out the store since it’s close to home and needed kitchenware. Staff are not friendly, at least not to us. They looked at us and didn’t even greet us or acknowledge us but were very friendly to other people who came in. Decided not to buy anything since they obviously didn’t care for my business.

Staff greets people at the door. Autumn collection in stock now, with pleasant illustrations on the plates and bowls. Authentic wooden bowls for fruit or other items. Happy I went.

I paid for a guest and I to take the Croissant Creations Class. It started late, the dough was frozen and they had to google to see how to quick thaw, on our tray of ingredients was a small bowl of sugar to add to the dough but luckily a participant tasted it and said it was salt. Our creations were taken away before we put on the egg bath so we had to tell the instructor and our creations were returned. Our break in the class was too long, about 30 minutes.
In ending, I was disappointed by the unprofessionalism, especially after bringing a guest. Sur la Table, you can do better than this!

Just attended an awesome cooking class at Sur La Table in Old Town Alexandria. The Spanish meets Portuguese menu was delish and Jailyn was a fantastic teacher. We had great conversation and learned so much. Can’t wait to try the marinade on some chicken this weekend.

Bait and switch or management just doesn't care about repeat business?! I took my knives into SLT 2 days ago to be sharpened. While there, was looking for a gift for my mother and noticed cute plates, napkins and a matching serving dish that were all 30% off. Figured I'd purchase them when I came back and paid for the knives. So here I am, 2 days later grabbing everything I saw before and the clerk informs me that they are no longer on sale. I ask for consideration and she says she can't so I ask her to check with the manager. She comes back and says manager said no so I ask to speak to the manager. I explain the situation to Madelyn and she tells me that it was a "flash sale" that ended yesterday. I tell her the signs didn't indicate a flash sale or 2 days only and it just ended yesterday! She says if she did it for me, she'd have to do it for everyone. So not only did I not make the purchase but I will never shop here again and I live 5 blocks away. I hope enforcing the rules was worth it.

Beautiful location, horrible cooking class experience.1 - Our class was overbooked somehow and since we were last, we got a cooking station that was pushed off to the side by the sink - no stove, no food trays or anything.Once we said something, our instructor (who was very kind) moved us.2 - Because it was overcrowded, we had to share a stove / demonstration station with the instructor so we could not chop, cook, and enjoy the experience as we intended.3 - The instructors may need some training when it comes to controlling the room. Some of the other students were absolutely obnoxious - talking over her, debating cooking techniques, rolling their eyes. For God’s sakes, it’s a cooking class for entertainment, not a Michelin course!I won’t be returning to this dreadful location. Would rather drive to Maryland than endure that again

Cooking class made us team up with another couple who didn't know what they were doing. It meant that we didn't really get to experience what we were there to learn. And to make matters worse, the teacher swapped the cake at the end and we got the other group's cake instead of ours. The cake had a full egg (shell and all) thrown into it. It was inedible.

Love this store for any kitchen needs. Can be a little on the pricy side, but items seem high quality
