This was our first visit to the Hermitage Inn, and we had dinner in The Birches Dining Room. When making reservations, the Dining Room was not available but when we arrived, they were able to accommodate us to our pleasant surprise. The dining room was beautifully decorated with extremely comfortable and high-quality furniture. Our server, Ben, was wonderful and all the food was delicious. We were seated by a window and were able to enjoy views of the beautiful grounds as it was still light out. This is clearly a high-end restaurant but has a comfy, casual feel to it at the same time. The men in our party had the smoked old-fashioned cocktails and absolutely loved them. The Vermont Blue Hubbard Squash Tart appetizer was amazingly delish! We all had the halibut entree and were very happy with it. The apple fritter dessert was heavenly. We highly recommend the Hermitage for dining - but honestly, I don't think they need the recommendation. Their reputation speaks for itself!

Came to the restaurant at the Hermitage for the first time in July 2023 and have been trying to make it once every season. Really like the food and the staff is friendly. So far, all my visits has been perfect!

My family and I make the 40 minute trek to Hermitage Inn a couple times a year for dinner and they are always very special nights that I look forward to. The food and drinks are outstanding but dessert always takes the cake (heh). My kids love to run around the beautiful grounds in between courses, and the staff are always accommodating and attentive. I highly recommend as a special occasion or treat yourself evening!

The Hermitage is a lovely venue ... but the last two times I've eaten there, it has been a disappointment. I was first disappointed that the pub menu is not activated during the summer. That just means that you pay a whole lot more, and the food, unfortunately, was mediocre at best, and absolutely not worth the prices that were being charged. Best thing was the burger. Wait staff wasn't terribly attentive. Overall, not a great experience. We had two stunningly perfect meals in 2022 - yes expensive, but exceptional. After a meal there this winter, and again this summer, I don't think I will opt to frequent there much again.

Always a top notch experience in every category! Drinks, food, service and ambiance!! Max is an exemplary bartender and our wait staff was the BEST!!! Waitresses were well versed on menu items which was so helpful when you want EVERYTHING LOL! We will be back!

Very disappointed. Bread and appetizer came out before the cocktails. I order olives with my cocktail. Drink came without them and then the server took 10 minutes to find olives and she gave me Kalamata olives. Not what goes with vodka Ordered the tuna nori and the tuna tasted as if it was frozen too long. Split the entree of filet mignon and we were charged $6 to split but were not told that before. The filet had no taste. The piece of cauliflower that was served with the dish was so over spiced that it was inedible The best part of the meal was bread and butter I felt the chef wanted to show off some of his culinary skills but they go lost on lack of taste Wish the Hermitage was like it used to be. Wasn't worth the drive

We love dining at the Hermitage. We always visit Mount Snow and we always eat there probably once every time. It's a beautiful setting, very professional staff, everyone is nice, and the food is amazing. The chef there made a little tweak to something I wanted on the menu and it was delicious. The deviled eggs are amazing. They have an amazing wine list. I couldn't recommend it more. So glad they are open again May 2024.

Quality and service of dinner did not rise to the charm of the Hermitage. The fondue was especially bad. “Selection of charcuterie” translated to 4 morsels of dried sausage, a little bread, and a ton of veggies (hope you like radishes). Cheese was not actual fondue cheese like emmental or gruyère, it was watery and tasteless. Cocktails were good.
Food and drinks: Half our wine beer and food selections were out of stock..
To be fair it was last day of season, but that left only more expensive options- could’ve offered to comp those options at same prices considering how expensive the place is.

Outstanding food and impeccable service. The Hermitage is the best restaurant in the valley. We like to sit in the bar area as it has a more casual menu. We had Oysters Rockefeller, duck confit, and the burgers. All were amazing. We always look forward to treating ourselves to a nice meal at The Hermitage whenever we are in the area.

Do not eat here! I was looking for a nice place to go for dinner for a friend’s birthday. The menu looked good so we gave it a try. While the dishes sound exciting and full of potential nothing had any flavor. Everything was bland and not worth the price. We were charged for food that was never ordered/ received and they charged extra percentage on the tax. Two days after our dinner we were charged an additional $45 for I don’t know what. I don’t know how you charge someone’s card again after the fact. I have tried reaching out to the restaurant a multitude of times to try and resolve this issue and still I haven’t heard back from anyone a week later. What a scam!

I recently had dinner here with a group of friends for someone's birthday. We were charged for food we never ordered or received and after paying the bill, they randomly added a $45 charge.
The waitress who brought us our receipt had folded it in a way where you could not see that gratuity was included, so we would give an extra tip. Also, they charged us tax on the tip, and the tax amount is wrong. Tax on the bill plus tip would be $65, we were charged $95.84. Tax should have been on the subtotal only: $782 tax would be $54.74
In total, we paid about $100 extra, for food that was never received and the random $45 charge. I have a picture of the signed receipt, so I know it is a fraudulent charge.

Great Restaurant. We try to go to the Hermitage Inn every year we go to Mt. Snow. We prefer the tavern menu to the main dining room, but both are amazing. A little pricey for the area, but normal for New York dining.

The shrimp cocktail (and sauce!) we had was the only thing that made it to our table worthy of praise. The kitchen said it would be "impossible" to offer a tuna tartare app even though they have tuna tartare in a smaller portion on the menu. When talked into beef tartare even though I was getting the steak, it was either seared (I hope) or several days old - came out gray, a little chewy and not very tasty. The oysters were dry and stuck to the shells and we were told were purchased shucked because it's too much work to shuck them in the kitchen. My filet was medium or medium-well when ordered medium rare and my wife's lamb was fatty and completely unimpressive. The wine was delicious, but way over priced (nearly $40/glass for a rather short pour). The entire time we were treated to a loud dining room with hip=hop playing too loudly on the stereo. I don't know what happened here, but there are pubs in Wilmington with better food... this place used to be soooo good. The service was off, too, but at least in a charming and sometimes funny way.

Great meal at the Tavern. Our server, Alex, was great. The food and ambience was outstanding. The only reason why it's 4 stars was because we ordered the skillet cookie dessert and it came back overdone and burnt. However, the did not charge us for the cookie. Thank you Alex for a great experience!
