Over charged propane

Customer aerobics is good but they can never get in touch with the drivers. I don’t not recommend if you’re in a bind. It took two days for a paid rush delivery. Go with one of the smaller companies.

Terrible customer service. In order for propane to be delivered we need to have our driveway sanded in the winter. This is needed solely for the delivery truck. The cost of sanding is $100.00 each event. We were given less than 16 hours (after 7:00 pm) notice of a delivery which often does allow time for the sanding truck to arrive. Invariably the propane truck arrives early, can't get to the house and leaves. This continues on and on to the extent that we have paid out hundreds of dollars for sanding and still no delivery. Customer service is pseudo pleasant but ineffectual. Requesting a supervisor always results in the supervisor "being on break". As soon as possible we are dumping AmeriGas for a customer friendly caring company. Bah humbug to you AmeriGas.

Wish I could give zero stars, worst company ever! We hired them to put gas lines in for my grandparents new generator, which was needed because they lose power a lot and are on oxygen. We explained the importance and it still took them an entire month to get it hooked up. The first three times they came the brought the wrong size gas line..... three times! Over the course of the month I called 6 times with an average phone hold time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. On my last call they promised to do the install for free since they'd screwed up so much, and in the end all that meant was waiving the $60 show up fee for the times they showed up and didn't do the work! But still charged us full price for the install. When I asked about the procedure for siding companies they told me that if we switch companies they won't refund us for the gas left in the tank when they take it away. This is illegal in Vermont. They are required by law to refund for gas left in a tank they take away. Scummy scummy scummy.

Stay away from this propane provider. I've been a loyal customer for many years. I belong to a fuel buyers group that negotiates price per gallon based on USAGE according to the fuel buyers paperwork that I sign and agree to. After receiving my bill I noticed I was being charged a higher price per gallon than I expected. After spending over a half hour on the phone with a call center in N. C. I was connected to the local St. Albans call center. I explained my situation. The person kept saying it was based on delivery, not USAGE. I explained that wasn't what I agreed to (and paid a $50 fee to the buyers group for - I agreed to USAGE on a tier scale based on the more one uses the less they pay per gallon). The person on the phone did not listen and did not seem to care. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The person on the phone indicated they would pass my message on to Andrew the manager. Almost two weeks went by and I never heard from anyone. I called the call center again, this time I was connected to someone in Ohio. I was told I would be contacted by Robin at the St. Albans office. Robin called me back and I explained the whole thing again . I also discovered the same mistake was made last year but Amerigas made good on it and adjusted my price to the lower PPG. A precedent was set. Robin took down all this information. I was very close to the next tier even with calculating delivery gallons. A couple days later Robin called me back and informed me the manager Andrew would not budge. He would not adjust the rate to save me 100 bucks which is meaningful to me but not meaningful enough to keep a loyal customer coming back. Remember Andrew consumers have a choice. You didn't even have the courtesy to call me yourself to explain your reasoning behind your decision. Make Amerigas your last choice for fuel providers.

I was renting an apt for over a year when all of a sudden my propane was shut off. Amerigas had left a memo in my mailbox asking me to pay the balance. (strange, how did they know which mailbox to put it in). When calling the office I was greeted on the phone by a young lady named Jenna. She could not answer any of my questions, which were 'I have never had an account, why all of a sudden am I know being billed/shut off? Is there a way that you can mail me print outs or a new application, any information to help me better understand why this is happening". I was told by Jenna that she would have the propane turned back on and work with my landlord to correct these errors. Days later it was shut back off again and to no surprise when I call Jenna answers the phone but this time with an attitude. I ask if I can speak with the manager, she says "nope". When I ask why is it shut off again, why did I not receive the new application/information?" I was told " 'cause" and then she proceeded to yell at me and say "you were told to come in and pay". Nevertheless, I now know that in the future if I ever need to start an account with a propane company, guess which one I will not be using? Furthermore, the VT State Housing Authority, as well as Community Action and VT Legal Aid Assistance has been made aware of these actions.

We had the worst experience with Amerigas. After 7 years of doing business with Amerigas, they decided that they didn't want to drive over our one lane bridge and that we lived to far out to deliver to anymore. When we closed our account, it took our local office (Berlin, VT) about a month to come get their tank. When they did get their tank, their truck got stuck and left huge gouges in our yard. The local office refused to come back and repair the damage to our yard. And, after closing our account 5 months ago, we just got a bill for 15 cents!! Pretty silly since it cost more to send the bill in the mail and they never came to repair the damage to my yard. The Berlin, VT office is just absolutely horrible!!
