H&R Block in SLC tax professional reviewed and approved my Fed taxes in March 2024. I paid all the H&R Block fees and the tax penalty they calculated before the deadline of 4/15/24. They incorrectly calculated my tax penalty and I just received a $520 invoice from the IRS. I contacted the Tax Professional (Kelly) and she told me there is NOTHING they can do — just pay the additional bill. What is the point of spending nearly $200 on a “tax professional” when they are unable to honor their work? I won’t be using H&R Block again or recommend them to anyone who inquires! This is unacceptable service and a waste of my money!

I was very impressed with responsiveness of the office staff and tax preparer Kathleen Gillman. She is knowledgable and easy to work with, making taxes a safe and comfortable experience for me. She navigated all the changes of my accessing pension and starting a small business with changes, deductions and credits. She even helped with my solar panel credits. Yes this is my second year in a row, and in 2025, I will return to the Millcreek HnR Block office.

It was extremely difficult ro reach my specialist after our initial visit. She di not check or respond to important emails containing documents i was asked to send! I was not given the option on payment transfer.

This feedback is related to my overall experience with HR Block this year. On the day of my tax appointment, I called HR Block to confirm which office I was going to. Over the phone, I was told my appointment had been cancelled that day because I had not confirmed it with the office. I had in fact confirmed the appointment twice. I had also taken part of the day off of work to be able to go to my appointment, so I was very frustrated. I told the representative on the phone I was going to go to the office that day anyway and ask to be seen by someone. Upon arriving at the office, I was told my appointment had not been cancelled and I was told this information in error over the phone. Im really glad I made the choice to show up at the office, and didn't reschedule as was suggested to me on the phone. My tax appointment itself was fine however, two days after leaving the office, I was contacted and told I still needed to sign my tax return. In 15 years of doing business with HR block, I have never been asked to sign my return after my appointment, this has always been done while I was with the tax preparer. I was sent the forms digitally to sign, but was unable to figure out how to do so, thus, I had to make a second trip to the office. Upon my return, I was told I would have to pay another $4 dollars while signing. I had already paid $320 when I was in the office during my first visit. I was not given a clear answer as to why I was being charged an additional 4 dollars. Instead I was told the original bill was $324 and I had only paid $320 during my visit. This seems incredibly odd to me as I paid by credit card during my original visit. Why was I not charged the correct amount the first time? I have been doing business with HR block since 2006. However, I do not think I will return in the future based on my experience this year. It felt chaotic and unorganized.

I made an appointment at this location last Saturday over a year ago. Got to the location was told no appointment was made and that the person that had done my taxes no longer work there. So I rescheduled for this Saturday. I walked in the door, and they told me that they were too backed up to do my taxes. I will never come here ever again, and suggest nobody else does to send a message that you cannot treat your customers this way!

I have been a customer for years and had a discrepancy come up and they never returned emails, calls, or text! Laura McCormick has taken our money every year and consistently messed up our taxes. We have reached out to the company and nothing! I will never do business with this company again. I highly suggest using any company but this one!

H R Block did not have coupons or incentives discounts for return customers. 274.00 was very expensive.

Diane Rasmussen went above and beyond to make sure our business and personal taxes were completely taken care of. The staff and Diane were so kind to my 18mo daughter who had to join us. They also got us in on short notice. Will be returning and highly recommend!
