Substandard product! Poor customer service!!Purchased transition lenses ($400+) and after 18 months lenses stopped transitioning, no longer darkened to sunlight. Store would not warrantee product or offer any help or discount for replacement lenses.Called corporate office because I was not pleased with how the local store handled my complaint. It has been 6 weeks and I have not heard back from them. It appears poor customer service is systemic at Standard Optical, from the top down!!Good luck to you if you choose to be a customer!!

Used to work there, nobody knew what they were doing, I felt so bad for the doctors I worked with, and the patients we saw.Don’t believe anything the store, or corporate says about your contacts. They are not on back order, they are not delayed. The CEO just refuses to pay/can’t pay the distributor. I can’t speak on the length of glasses but I imagine it’s a similar story.Save your time, your effort, and your money. Go elsewhere.

It is very disappointing that this store closes during its business hours. The store says it is open Saturdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We have driven here two Saturdays now and both times it is closed. No explanation or sign on the door. If you are not open Saturdays, you should take the sign off the door and adjust your website. Very poor management.

The Roy location shut down, so I'm leaving a review here. I would have gone to South Ogden location as it was closer but they have no optometrist on staff, which makes about as much sense as having a dentist office with no dentist. Anyway, Dr Ellison and the Optician at the Roy location were great, no issues. The problem is the waiting time for new lenses. I was told the prescription was nothing out of ordinary and to expect them 3 weeks, 4 weeks max and maybe as soon as 2 weeks. Barely able to function at work without my new lenses, I called at 4 weeks to find out what was going on and that's when I was informed the Roy location closed, just 8 days after my visit, and not a word of it was mentioned while I was there. Whoever answered the phone after Roy closed said I should have been quoted 6-8 weeks for lenses due to all the problems the lab was having. I would have walked right out with my prescription if I was told that (which is probably why they said 3 weeks). My Mom just got similar lenses from LensCrafters in 10 days. This is beyond ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Hopefully Dr Ellison got a job at a better organization because I'm sure as heck never going back to sub-Standard Optical.

The manager of this store closes and leaves whenever she wants. She makes excuses about having court dates on why she isn’t there to open the store at all. This has happened multiple times.Then for a few months the excuse was that her systems were down.Now her new excuses is that the power went out. The power was out for an hour at most, and this was DAYS AGO. This picture is taken today, after seeing this sign up for multiple days. I work at Smiths next to this location and see that this manager literally just does what she wants, leaves when she wants and has horrible horrible customer service.I have been going to this store everyday on my breaks at work, trying to get my contacts that took almost 8 months just to get here but now I can’t because the manager is so terrible. I want to contact corporate about this if there is anyway possible. This is not fair to any of the customers and she doesn’t deserve the measly amount of people who have stayed to do business with her.

Second time I’ve tried to stop in and they’re closed without notice or without putting any communication where people can know before going to the physical location. At least update your voicemail box to say so, contact corporate so they can update it online, anything. I've had to take time off of work so I can try getting my son's glasses. We do not have our own vehicle which makes this worse. Please work on this.

Awful place to do business with. I've ordered 6 months worth of contact lenses back in January, it is now June and I still haven't receive the contact lenses that I have paid in full.

i ordered and paid for my contacts in full in january, it is now may and i have zero clue when i’m ever going to get them and i was told it would take around 3 months for my contacts to come in. whenever i call or go in to ask for updates i just get the same, “oh they should be on the next truck/delivery coming in”. that has been said to me every time for the last 2 1/2 months. i understand that there has been a delay but i’ve gotten tired of the vague answers whenever i call in. i would avoid ordering anything through this standard optical unless you’re willing to wait an unknown amount of time for your product.

The first appointment or the first visit there was great. We were taken care of right away and everything seemed to go perfectly fine until it came to receiving the glasses. I was told that I would get the glasses in two weeks and still haven’t gotten them. I ordered the glasses The end of February and it’s almost the middle of May and I still haven’t gotten anything every single time I call I get the exact same thing that they’re just waiting for them to come in or that the manufacturing is changing and so it’s going to take longer but it’s been almost 3 months and I still haven’t gotten anything

I have waited 6 months for my contacts and still have not received them. Last time I went in they stated their system was down and they couldn't give me any information. They gave me a business card and had me leave the store. I tried going in today, but they were closed when I got there shortly after 6. The business hours state that they are open until 7. I have never waited this long for contacts, and my glasses are out of date so I can't wear them. Very frustrating.

Service here is fine. Haven't had any complaints in that regard. Been getting glasses here for the past 4 years and haven't had any struggle.The only complaint I have is that the hours labeled for Saturday doesn't appear to be correct. It is labeled close at 5 PM on Saturdays, so it came to my surprise to see the door locked at 2 PM instead. If they were even opened at all.

This was a fiasco from the start. It started with them telling me that I could use my old frames, which would save me about $140. When she told me what I owed, I said, "Whoa, that seems quite a bit more than I expected. What has changed?" That's when she said, "Oh, we can't use your old frames. You have to get new ones." An additional $140. Then, I had to return the glasses because they didn't have the anti-glare coating, even though I told them it was an absolute must. Sigh.. mistakes happen. When I returned my glasses, they said it would only be an additional $63 to get the anti-glare coating. I went to pay the additional $63, and now, suddenly, it's $96. Then, they had my glasses for TWO MONTHS (I understand the lab is separate from the store, but this just adds insult to injury). I'm never going back to this office.

Horrible customer service. I ordered my contacts 8 months ago, paid in full. Still waiting, they never have trial contacts for me. Never call me back when they say they will. Even the manager promised to call me back and never did. I asked for a refund so I can go somewhere else and they won’t give me a refund, always full of excuses. I’m now due for another eye exam, I will be going somewhere else. Please go somewhere else

We usually have a good experience with this store however this time I was told that I would have my new glasses which are FULLY paid for in 14 days. I'm now at 25 days and all I get when asking for the progress or more information than "we're just waiting for them to come in". That is telling me that this new staff (excluding the optometrist) doesn't really care or want to get some answers unlike the previous staff always had the reason behind the delay. Shame on you ladies! Treat ALL customers like they are equally important and get some answers! I don't know if I will be coming back to this store or recommend them to anyone else at this point in time.
