I called in to schedule a minor surgery for my dog to remove “cherry eye” and specifically asked what the cost would be. The girl at the front looked it up and told me that it would be right around $225. Great! Scheduled the surgery and also called back to have a (1) few claw removed. She said, “oh that won’t be much”, in reference to the cost added.
Well we pick up our dog only to get a bill for $782!!!
That’s a LONG way from $225! So I called and then she starts backtracking and get the Dr on the phone. I voice my concerns and clarify that I am not looking for a refund but rather referring to what I was told vs what they charged. It’s a HUGE difference and he agreed. He never said she was wrong but instead made excuses for what he thought she might have been thinking.
If you have a person that doesn’t know what the cost is, don’t allow them to give estimates to customers. I would have taken her in anyway but when I am told a price, I expect it. However, I doubt I will go back here.

THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TRIFLEXIS AND WERE RUDE WHEN ASKED.

I too would not recommend this vet/office. Took our dog in and was told she was very sick, was told she had tick fever. We had to leave our dog overnight and the next morning we received a phone call telling us our dog died. When we went to pick our dog up the techs spoke with us (they were kind) but never heard a word from the vet. Most vet offices offer their condolences but not this office. I was not at all prepared to lose our dog - this came as a complete shock. Our dog was only 4 years old. I am filled with so much guilt, I am not sure what happened while she was there.

Not too sure how I feel. Never saw a vet... dog came home itching like crazy. Seemed quite pricey.

The worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. I brought my Ruby girl (mini poodle-10 lbs) to be spayed (one year old) , and not only was there no client- vet communication, but they literally glued my dog shut. After most of the anesthesia wore off. I could tell she was not acting normal (hunched over in pain/ literally screaming), of course after a procedure it is expected that she would be in pain. However, they emphasized how she wouldn't need any other pain medications or antibiotics to take home. This was later confirmed by the emergency clinic in Tyler (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) that her care was less than adequate. I could not fathom how the people at this clinic could try and excuse this behavior, additionally, they kept her overnight which is usually standard. With the expectations of having your dog cared for, this clinic is a death sentence for your dog. DO NOT GO HERE. Literally had I saw the review about the Great Dane that died after a spay, I would not have made the appointment. Also, they claim that they used internal sutures and used glue on top which is sometimes protocol, the emergency vet confirmed this was not the case, and she was left unattended for some while without a cone and must've pulled the external sutures out and began to bleed WHILE UNDER THEIR CARE.

I so appreciate this excellent team of loving professionals. Excellent experience. Dr. Howton tells it the way it is. Highly experienced and knowledgeable vet. They have helped myself and my animals so much. Advice? Go here first...they fixed major issues others vets would not deal with.

My wife took her great Dane to be spayed. It was a good looking healthy dog. We went to pick it up and they told us it was dead !!! Broke our hearts and the staff just acted like oh well no big deal. My wife is blind and she loved that dog . It was her protection and they were best buddies. So very sad.

Recently moved to the area and have a horse that was showing signs of not being able to swallow (choking). They are one of the few vets that have the facility and equipment to scope him. Dr. Howton knows his stuff after doing it for 40+ years! No issues found in throat but after an exam of my horses teeth they do not line up enough for him to breakdown food. Scheduled a followup appt to get them floated.Great staff, facility and care!
