Everyone here is wonderful, except for the older woman with glasses and a mullet that works at the front. Don't expect to be acknowledged by her, but do expect her to tell a coworker to take care of you instead. Expect her to not be able to find your file, your order of contacts or glasses, or even your insurance no matter how much information you give her. Again, everyone else is beyond exceptional and an absolute delight to deal with.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE FOR CONTACTS! Major communication issue. Said my son right side contacts were on backorder for a month. Call up there 3 time to check on them. After 7 weeks I call and they immediately cut me off and said there has not been a shipment of contacts. I told the lady that the contacts have been on backorder and maybe it has been a couple of weeks back. She said no. Call insurance to negate charges and they said I could pick up his prescription. I walk in the door right after and they had my son chart in front of them with the box of right eye contacts. I questioned it and she said they left a message on the 18th of March. Why she didnt look when I called!?

So I was going elsewhere to purchase new glasses due to it being cheaper. Well I called and asked if they could fax my prescription over to the place I was and was told it would be sent over immediately. Then, after waiting for about 20-25 minutes with no fax received, I called again asking it they would just email it to me to make things go by faster and also to remind them about sending the fax. They said no problem, they'd get right on it and hung up.Waited another 15-20 minutes with no fax or email.Finally had to put my new glasses appointment on hold (thankful for that customer service representative being very understanding and patient with me) and drive to Lone Star to get a copy of my prescription. When I arrived, there was another customer in front of me talking with the doctor and a male receptionist (not who I talked to on the phone either time). While waiting for about 20 minutes for them to finish up chatting and answering her questions, the main receptionist (also not who answered when I called) came back from what I presumed was her break, quickly wrote down my prescription, and told me to have a nice day.1 hour to get my prescription that could have been solved with a quick 5 minute fax time. Poor service on the female receptionist that did take my call both times.This is sad because when I first went back in September to get my eye exam, I had no troubles with them and they were all very friendly.

So I have worn glasses since I was 7 years old and rarely do new glasses make a huge difference other than the 1st pair I received. I’m 53 now and went to this place for the first time after living in Waco for 8+ years. I knew I was getting older and needed reading glasses, so I resigned myself to accept that my readers Rx would increase but maybe my regular nearsightedness would remain the same.Well, the doctor was awesome and evaluated my glasses and eyes very well noticing my astigmatism in one eye was gone and had decreased in another eye. My Rx for my nearsightedness supposedly changed by the better by +0.25.I was skeptical until I received my glasses in. Wow… just wow! This combination is working. I can see closely with my progressive readers and I can see clearly far away again. It has been a while since I felt like I can see crisply and my right eye is not twitching/straining/is cloudy.The magic decoder ring to my eyesight is a very welcomed relief. And it is almost a bit emotional because I had not realized how much it bothered my eyes. It is almost a sense of relief in the strain on my eyes but also a sense of relief in the worry about my older eyes.If you need a good eye doctor, consider this place. He is careful, slow, methodical which in the end results in great relief. Don’t judge a book purely bumpy its cover and be patient, especially if you have started to question eye doctors from previous visits.All I can say is thank you and I’m so grateful the people. The staff are great. They are real people, so be kind because they really want to help you and will do so if you allow them. The 3 folks I met besides the doctor are awesome.

I don't recommend Lone star. My interaction was very unprofessional. I'm on my 4th pair of glasses that are still bad. I have to eat this money and try another optometrist. It is what it is it seems most professional business are not really professional anymore you just have to deal with what you get the best you can. Also just fyi my glasses are not cheap total bill 1200.00 so it dose not matter the level of glasses still not usable glasses.

It was time for my wife to get a new pair of glasses, and we chose Lone Star Family Vision. The store is conveniently located, clean, nicely decorated, and most importantly staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people. Dr. Widman is a has a calm soothing demeanor and carefully ensured my wife’s prescription was accurate. At the front desk we met Liam, who helped her find the best frame option to match facial structure, skin tone, and hair color. Liam enjoys his work, and it shows in the way he takes care of his customers. Once we had the short list of frame selections, Martha was called on for the final vote, and contributed her input which confirmed the selection. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will be back!
