Stopped here for an over night, wasn’t bad. When you have an rv it doesn’t take much but a plug and water to make me happy. Once you get past the flat dusty lot, this place is pretty decent. The spots are huge and well spaced. Easy to get into. Could use a little updating but for what you pay and where it is, it’s a good place to stop. It was quiet, felt safe. Over all would stay here if I’m in the area again. They also had a cafe onsight, it was good. They serve dinner and breakfast.

Let’s get Van Horn itself out of the way. This stop was a waypoint for us on our trip west. Van Horn is a little town about 4 miles long by 1/2 a mile wide and seems to be there to support the trucking community. There’s not much to do there. The main drag boasts 2 stop lights, about 20 motels, just as many tire repair shops and maybe 6-7 RV parks. We stayed there a week due to our work from home requirements mon-fri.
The rv park is about a half a mile off the freeway and not one of the parks on the main drag. It definitely was quiet which was nice. We stayed there because it was highly rated although while we were there it was mainly empty of fellow RVers except in the very back of the park which seemed to be designated for monthly or longer stays.
The owner and her daughter were nice but the office was usually closed. Probably because we were the only people there usually. The owners do live onsite however so all it took was a phone call to get ahold of them.
The park itself was gravel and really boasted no green space at all despite the signs requesting that we don’t drive in the grass. There was no park cable available and a scan for local tv channels got nothing. I don’t recall if they had wifi since we have our own wifi and didn’t need theirs. Their park details say they have propane but during our stay there was none available. The laundry room had 4 washers/dryers but only two of each were working. They do have a pool but we didn’t avail ourselves using it.
They have a cafe but it wasn’t open while we were there.
The park is a bit rundown but all hookups worked, power was steady. Water smelled like sulfur however. All sites were pull through which we liked.
Would we stay there again should we find ourselves in van horn? Probably. The alternative would have been one of the smaller more congested parks off the main drag.
All in all it wasn’t a bad rv park. It was very quiet with full hookups including sewer. Except for the truck stops the town rolls up its sidewalks around 8pm. There are restaurants to be found and one grocery store should you need essentials.

Poor customer service. Won’t answer the phone or call back. Dirty lots would recommend using one of the other rv parks in town.Very poor ran business.

This place is always clean. Penny is the perfect hostess, very friendly and helpful. Level spaces with well-maintained picnic tables. All utilities work well. Nice, well-maintained pool.
Noteworthy details: Very quick trip to I-10.

Due to car troubles we needed somewhere to pull off and find help. This was easy access and the staff immediately helped. Got us checked in over the phone and gave directions straight to spot so we could get the truck unhooked quickly. When I️ went to the office to finalize anything they still needed Penny already had a mechanics name ready for me. We ended up having to staying two nights without any problems. Pool was a nice retreat in the heat. I️ expected warm water as hot as it is, but it was nice and cool. Very refreshing!

Yeah better to sleep in a rest area. Weeds dirt and run down buildings. Surprised it hasn’t been condemned by building department.

Comfortable overnight stop in Van Horn TX. Great pool to cool down the Texas summer heat. Close to the Main Street of town - we just rode our bikes there to do some grocery shopping. Level sites, friendly management ???

It was right off the I 10, which was convenient for us as we are traveling back to Arizona. The staff was great. Shout out to Rochelle for sticking around on Saturday as we got held up by a severe storm. The pool was clean and cool. Didn't get to try the Cafe as it's closed off season. Had read through some of the reviews and had no problems with the hookups or facility. Would recommend them.

It was clean but spots are small for bigger RVs. We had an issue with our spot and there was really no one to speak to … the location was good if you need something right off the freeway

3rd time here for an overnite stay.
Despite owners living on site, this stop is going down hill.
Restaurant indiscriminately closed. A manager who is nice but seems to be burnt out.
Showers need to be remodeled & the little store is getting close to being bare walls.
RV sites need some serious updating to increase attractiveness in this desolate area.
There is another park in town. Might be time to give it a try.
