This has been my 1st and usually only go-to place for anything transmission related, repair or replacement parts. They know their stuff! They will make every effort to make sure you have what you're looking for at an affordable price with a good ole fashion thank you that still appreciates your business. Lady's behind the phone and counter have always gone the distance to get your transmission issues solved in a timely fashion. No matter how old the vehicle they will take care of you and you can expect it to be Dunn right at Dunn Transmission, thanks again Dunn Transmission for always being there for our family since I can remember, Your the best shop in Tyler. Unfortunately they don't make shops like this anymore. Thanks again , loyal customer for 2 decades but who's counting.

I love shopping here for transmission parts. The staff are very knowledgeable and courteous. Also, they have a lot of stock and will work to help you track down a part if you're not sure what exactly it is. They treat transmission shops and shade-tree mechanics the same. I high recommend them. Oh, and their prices are great too.

Around the date of July 27, 2021 my Mom which is 76 years of age, had a brake problem and the master cylinder went out. A few days later we ordered one and it was replaced. But the master cylinder caused the brake caliber to lock up on the front drivers wheel. Being that it has locked up, my Mom thought it was her transmission because the caliber had locked on the wheel, she couldn't go back or forward. She had it towed to Dunns transmission, because she thought it was her transmission. They called her and told her that all the clutches were gone and it needed to be rebuilt. At that time she had it towed back tot he house. Once they dropped if off, they put it in the wrong place. So she got in the and the car went both forward and reverse. I told Mom that's not the transmission, it was something else. After driving the car further, the caliber locked again. Then we thought it must have been the new master cylinder that was just put on. We replaced the master cylinder and the problem was fixed. But the question now is how Dunns came up the estimate of $4290 to repair a transmission that wasn't the problem. She has a written estimate for that amount. I know how transmission shops are, cause I have my interaction with Aamco on tape, they wanted to charge me to rebuild a transmission that didn't need it. Like I said I have mine on tape. Is this how car repair shops do women, the elderly of just both? Charging for repairs that the car doesn't need. Since picking the car up and replacing the Master Cylinder, she has being driving the car every day, it shifts perfectly and has not stop once. I'm going to report this incident to the BBB. They claim the car was driven, but it was in the same spot the entire time until being towed back to the house. Same in these hard time that Dunn Transmission want to rip people off.

Very honest/transparent. I thought my transmission broke down as it suddenly stopped shifting while on the highway. Had to pull over and get it towed. I was recommended this shop by my usual car mechanic who doesn't do transmissions (Mike's automotive repair in Tyler).

I brought my car here because it would not shift. They estimated four to five days and $2500. Two and a half weeks and $3500 later, I picked up the car and immediately noticed it was not shifting properly, and the battery light came on.I took it right back to them, and a week and a half later, they told me that the alternator pulley had broken and a cell in the battery had gone out ... and that all of this had happened in the FIVE MINUTES that I had the car after picking it up. This was, of course, not covered by their warranty, so that was an additional several hundred dollars out of pocket.

My truck broke down in Tyler on the way to a deer hunt on December 29, 2019, I initially had it towed to a Chevrolet dealership. Dunn transmission picked it up from them and did it for half the price. Dunn stayed in touch with me during the whole repair process. My truck was completed a day before promised. It had all new parts replaced and operates like it did when the truck was new. They offered a warranty that I purchased as well. All the employees are super friendly and went beyond to help and satisfy. I would give them a 5 star rating on everything. They even sent me an email for a transmission shop in Conroe for any follow up for me locally. If you need transmission service in East Texas I highly recommend use Dunn Transmission. I read review where the guy gave 1 star.. It's apparent he does not have any mechanical knowledge. A band adjustment is just a band aid, not a cure. Dunn rebuilt the trans on my Dodge 2500 last summer. They did a grest job! Would not go anywhere else for tran work in E. Tex! Pulled my 5th wheel to S Dakota ladt month and it worked to perfection.

903Well if I could give 0 stars I would, they told me I needed a 2000$ transmission but my mechanic 245told me he could readjust the bands for a whole lot less and he did. He saved me thousands 6551thank you Johnny.
