I recently returned to Freedom Chevrolet for an oil change after a few years of not having the best experiences. I had received a flyer in the mail for an oil and filter change discount, so I decided to give them another try. I made an online appointment with Ms. Brisa Menchaca and was able to get in and out in about an hour. Ms. Menchaca was very professional and friendly, making the experience a very positive one. The only downside was that the TV in the customer waiting area had very poor reception, but I was able to pass the time surfing my phone. Overall I was very impressed with the service I received from Ms. Menchaca and the service team and will definitely be returning to Freedom Chevrolet in the future.

I took my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation on Thursday, September 12, 2024. I was driving to Dallas from San Antonio for a business meeting on Friday. When I reached Austin, a warning came on that said I was very low on oil and that I should add oil immediately. I pulled into a gas station and checked the dipstick and it didn't even register that it had oil. I called the dealership after I added oil, and was told that they would have to investigate because the notes said that the tech requested oil to be added. I was then told that I could take it to another Chevy dealership and they would pay that dealership to change my oil? I had already spent 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change and 30 minutes of my time adding the oil they forgot to put in. They said they couldn't refund my card but they could give me a free oil change the next time I needed one. I would have to pay for 2 oil changes within 4 days because they didn't add oil the first time. That is not a free oil change.
I then went back to Freedom on Monday (9/16) when I drove back from Dallas and had to wait another 45 minutes for them to do another oil change. The service manager said that I would not have been able to drive to Austin if there was no oil in my truck, and I assume she thought I was trying to get something for free after I paid them over $200. She said accidents happen but that she would meet with the tech. I asked what would happen if my engine had locked up and was told they would replace my engine. No apologies, no offers to make this right, nothing. It was a horrible experience that could have been avoided. I would expect better customer service from a dealership and will not go back. Why would I lie and say there was no oil in my car and spend an additional two hours of my life dealing with their mistake.

I stopped by the service department without an appointment. Angel was professional, courteous, and helpful. The oil change was completed in a timely manner. I appreciate Angel, and I highly recommend the service department at Freedom Chevrolet!

Horrible service in the maintenance department. Got a oil change and rotation. My door was full of oil and had to clean. Mirror was left pushed in. Tire lock was left thrown on the floor. Not the first time I have issues with them. Definitely not going back.

Terrible Customer Service. I worked with Cris and Domingo (used car sales manager) to help get things squared away for my brother. When my brother decided to go with a truck at another dealership because it had 8k miles and still had warranty (vs the 39k miles with no warranty on the truck at freedom) I called to apologize to Cris but wanted to thank them for their time. Before I could tell them I had a friend that was highly interested, he hung up on me. I called the dealership repeatedly to get a hold of Domingo and even left a voicemail for the used car sales director, and have yet to hear back from anyone after a week.

My experience at Freedom Chevrolet’s Service department was great, they took my vehicle in and performed the service within a very reasonable timeframe. The waiting area was good and had good amenities.

The customer service we received was terrible. When we dropped off our vehicle, we were told it would be checked & contacted within a couple of days as to what was needed & an expected completion date. After 2 weeks we had called several times & were told either the mechanic working on the job was on vacation & nobody else could tell us what was going on, or when we asked to speak to a manager, were told he was not available but they would have him call us back. 2 days later we went to the dealership in person & were told they were waiting on warranty but could not tell us what exactly the problem was. I work in the service industry myself & understand part lead times & filing warranty claims. This was blatant disregard & disrespect to our time & money. Either your staff is incompetent or just don't care about the job they are doing. We were without a vehicle for a month with no idea of when the repairs would be completed. Never did we receive a call back, we had to call & basically beg for information. Because of this experience we would not recommend this dealership to anyone for service or purchasing. We will actually advise people to steer clear of this facility.

I went to freedom to look at new Chevy Trax test drove one and decided to buy it. I was planning on pay cash but was told if I financed it through GM I could get 500 off. When I went back the next day the paper work didnt show the 500 off anywhere. I asked about this and he was trying to explain it to me but making no sense. I told him I want to see where it showed the 500. He went back to talk to someone and came back with another paper showing 500 off but the drive out price was the same. I told him he needed to explain to me why the drive out price was still the same and he couldn't. He took me back to the fiance guy and he tried to explain it to me I told him it was a bunch of bs and I just wanted to sign and get out of there. They also told me there wouldnt be any penalty for early pay off. Three weeks later I called to get the pay off and it was 250 more than the remainder that I owed so I only didn't get the 500 but it cost me a additional 250. I've bought many cars and this was the worst car buying experiences I've ever had.

I received a "Kick Off the Savings" coupon via email for an oil change at $14.95, so I took my 2500 Silverado in. They accepted my truck without any questions. An hour later, I was notified that it was ready, but when I went to pay, I was charged $150. When I inquired about the high charge, the attendant informed me that the coupon didn’t apply to diesel trucks. However, the coupon didn’t specify this in the fine print. I mentioned this to the employee, but I was still charged the full amount. Disappointed with the lack of clarity and customer service.

I’m in San Antonio for work for 4 months, my truck got broken into at my hotel so I brought it to Freedom Chevy to be repaired, $11,000 worth of damage. Couldn’t get any updates on my trucks repair so I finally reached out to my insurance to make contact. Two individuals from my insurance company called and both got different information. One was told parts were on order and the other was told truck would be ready the following day. I got the call the following day and was told the truck was ready. I show up to the dealership to pick up my Silverado and the cap that goes over the cylinder in the drivers side door is missing. Apparently the part was never ordered and now it needs to be ordered and painted. Horrible communication between dealership and customer. Won’t be coming back here after I come back to pick up the cap.
