Wonderful place where family gather together to worship. Texas still has the fear of God. I felt connected there

Beautiful Catholic Church near beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard east of Dallas in Rockwall. I attended the Christmas midnight Mass while visiting from out of town. The Altar area is elevated and centered so that viewing is excellent no matter where you sit. Before Mass an orchestra of stringed instruments played Christmas songs accompanied by a choir with beautiful voices who sung. The violins and cellos were so captivating that tears of joy filled my eyes! Mass was eloquently done with a feeling of holiness surrounding the whole church’s congregation. Love, humility, respect, and beauty of celebrating Christ’s birthday at Our Lady of the Lake was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend to anyone to attend this beautiful church, you will not be disappointed. I will be attending Mass again whenever I am in the area. Due to my heartwarming feelings, I have found my new church home away from home.

Great church. Father Martin runs a great mass and gives good homilies. The choir is amazing. Parking and traffic are horrible. They could have more confession times as well, like Sacred Heart in Rowlett.

Horrible parking. The building is just set up weird. Overcrowded. Packed in like sardines. We prefer to drive a little further out to be into a church where it's a little more personal.

Very disappointingcalled the rectory the Thursday before Easter, and said, since I had a confessional service the previous night, they would not hear any more confessions until the week after Easter. I asked if I could set an appointment directly with the priest and they said no maybe they believe that our sins take a holiday second thing that should’ve let me know that the priest may not really be in charge of the parish is the astonishing title given to the head administrator. The title is chief of staff. My chief of staff is Jesus and no one elseisn’t pride one of the deadly sins.

Love the church and the church community only thing is that there’s not enough seating I think the English mad times should be adjusted to another one after 10am and another one in the evenings

Our first time. Mass was great. The priest was very good.Only issue, not even a complaint, was how warm the church was during mass.We would like to attend this parish, but the English Mass times on Sundays do not fit our schedules. The two most popular Mass times are in Spanish.

If you are thinking about getting married at this church, DON'T! I wish someone would have warned me about how money hungry this church was. I never expected this from a Catholic Parish....Last year I was looking for a church nearby to get married in because unfortunately the church I regularly attend did not have availability for another two years or so. I did not want to wait that long to get married so I began asking around at other Catholic churches near me. Of course, Our Lady of The Lake had availability but the only downfall was he amount of fees they asked for to get married there! We told them that we were having a very low budget wedding and could not afford to pay over $2,000 in fees for the mass. This was when the marriage coordinator said the church would be able to work with us so that we would not have to pay so much. My fiance (now husband) were very grateful for this and gave our deposit to the church to save our date. Fast forward to a few months later, we go to the church to pay the rest of what we had agreed on. The marriage coordinator had no recollection of the discount they had offered us and told us that we HAD to pay the full amount! I never thought I had to get proof of what she had said before because I do not typically keep my guard up with a church. At this point we had already planned everything around the mass and felt like we had our hands tied to just figure out how to pay what they were asking for. The staff acted very arrogant about the situation from this point on and although we were starting to see the red flags, we felt like we were in too deep because it was only a couple months away from the wedding. Besides the horrible way were treated through the rest of the process, the worst was yet to come at the actual wedding! When we met Fr. Sean (after he showed up late to the rehearsals) we were not sure if he was even the priest at first because of his casual wear. Then he very quickly introduced himself at told us he was only going to go everything once and that we had to get done within 15 minutes. As you can assume, we were very confused about how things were going to go, and along with that he informed us that we would not have a ring bearer, flower girl, and to make sure to show up early for the wedding (because we would start no matter who is/ isn't there), but also not too early because they were going to be having a funeral an hour prior to my wedding ceremony. Just like he said, Fr. Sean left after what was maybe 10 minutes of the "rehearsal" and the marriage coordinator let us know we had to leave the building because there was another event that was waiting on us to clear the church... The next day was wedding day! I had already mentally prepared that there were going to be many things that were not going to go as planned but I was not going to let them negatively affect such a special day (or so I thought). As you may expect I (the bride) was running a little late due to having a hectic morning on this eventful day. Please let me emphasize "A LITTLE LATE" because it was 2 minutes to be exact! The mass was scheduled for 2:00pm that day (because that is the ONLY time they told me they could do weddings) and I showed up to the church at 2:02pm. At this point I had already given up on not letting anything ruin this special day because I was already very stressed out due to Fr. Seans erratic behavior. He was running around yelling at everyone (bridesmaids, groomsmen, family) because I had not showed up yet. Please note that there were guest there that are not Catholic so this was the only impression they got from a priest. He yelled at family members who were trying to place decor on the pues to stop what they were doing because he was angry that I had not shown up yet (mind you this was even before 2:00pm) and was constantly yelling at the groom because I was still on my way at 1:30pm. He quite literally screamed "I do not have time to wait on her, don't you see I am running a business here!?" If anything else before didn't reve

We've had a great experience at the 8am and 10am masses in the few months we started attending. The 8am mass has a great singer and the 10am a great choir.
